Royce Potatochip Chocolate - An Unconventional Variation on Valentine’s Day Chocolate
Overall Score

4.0
These days, the regular ol’ box of chocolate hearts, like red roses and Cupid, has become so mainstream to the point of being synonymous with Valentine’s Day. So why not make this Valentine’s Day special by gifting your significant other some exquisite chocolate-coated potato chips from Royce?

These melt-in-your-mouth potato chips come in four scrumptious flavors- Original, Caramel, Fromage Blanc (cheese-flavored white chocolate), Mild Bitter- and retail for S$15 per box. The unique blend of sweet chocolate and savory chip is a symphony to the tastebuds and will leave anyone begging for more.

best chocolate on earth

Royce will always remain as one of my favorite chocolate brands. It's melt-in-the-mouth texture is extremely luscious and one of a kind. It’s no wonder why people would willingly pay $15 for a box of these chocolates.

If you find regular chocolates boring, Royce has an extensive range of chocolatey products from chocolate covered nuts to popcorns and even potato chips! Most of them tastes great, even if they may sound strange. My next go to product would be the Nutty Bar Chocolate and Baton Cookies.

If you’re a fan of chocolate, give them a try the next time you walk past Royce, you won’t regret it!

Very “giftable” chocolates

I will always remember Royce Chocolate for their melt-in-the-mouth chocolate. The sensation is magical. If it only wasn’t so expensive I would eat their chocolate everyday. Other than their flagship line, their Pure Chocolate series makes for a yummy midnight snack reminiscent of After Eight, but classier.

Their packaging is as you would expect from all things Japanese, simple but well designed. This makes them great gifts for almost any occasion. Nobody will hate a pack of Royce Chocolates.

Heavenly chocolate!

I've always wondered how could chocolate at Royce's be so expensive when we could always buy cheaper ones elsewhere. But when I bit into my first piece of Royce chocolate, I immediately understood why people were willing to pay so much for chocolate.

Royce sells gourmet chocolate, and the items are really of high quality. One special point about Royce chocolate is that they have to be kept refrigerated, which enhances the taste of chocolate when we eat them afterwards. My favourite item is the Champagne nama chocolate, which is chocolate with a fragrant hint of champagne. It tastes absolutely heavenly, so much that I can probably finish one whole box of these fine chocolates by myself.

Other than nama chocolates, Royce also sells potato chips coated with chocolate, which looks and sounds really interesting. But really, go for the name chocolates, they're the best. Ever.

Amazing Chocolates

Royce sells amazing chocolates. They offer many different flavours such as nama chocolate potato chips chocolate. What makes Royce so special is that it is served cold. The way the chocolate melts in your mouth is indescribable, you'll have to experience it yourself.

At first, I was skeptical about getting these expensive chocolates to satisfy my own curiosity. 'Are these chocolates really that good?', I asked myself while looking at the wide variety of chocolates displayed on the pretty shelves. Thankfully, there are free samples offered to me. As soon as I popped a piece of nama chocolate into my mouth, I knew I had to get them. They are so good!

You definitely have to try it to understand why it is so popular.

Royce chocolates have always been well known for their exquisite series of Nama Chocolates. They are indeed an amazing treat if you do have some money to spare.

I first discovered Royce when my father decided to bring some home for the family to have a taste of it. We passed the small box of chocolates around, savouring the taste of the amazing blocks of chocolate that melts in your mouth. It is truly value for money.

There is a stark employees' attitude at the various branches but I must say that all of their outlets have a very clean, professional outlook which is very pleasing to the eye. The employees at Marina Bay Sands were very warm, friendly and immediately approached me when I entered their shop whereas the employees at ION orchard kind of just stood behind the counter as if I did not exist until I actually bought something. This made me kind of mad because I feel like their service speaks alot about a brand.

My first encounter with Royce chocolates was when my mum was given a box from her colleague. Oblivious to how expensive they were, I knew that what I had in my hands were chocolates I had to take time to appreciate and savor from the first bite. When eaten at the right temperature, the chocolate melts perfectly on your tongue. I have tried their green tea chocolates and the many different types of Nama chocolate and have yet to be disappointed.

What really makes me thank the gods for having Royce in my life however would have to be their potato chip chocolate. The saltiness of the chips are perfectly met with their chocolate, giving you a crunchy, salty and sweet harmony in your mouth.

My friend was a manager in one of the top five accountant firms so he was pretty well paid. He once gave a box of Royce chocolates. He told me he would buy these chocolates to reward his staff after the completion of a very difficult and demanding projects.

I thought nothing of it, the box of chocolates he bought me was so small I thought he was a bit of a scrooge to buy such tiny boxes of chocolates as rewards. I finished the chocolates very fast, there were not that many pieces. My friend looked at me with a funny look.

It was only until I passed by the shop and went in to take a look then I realised what that look meant. It must have meant I was crazy to finish such expensive chocolates so fast without even taking the time to savour the tastes. I know now, I will take minutes to finish one piece of Royce chocolate and squeeze every cents of taste out of the chocolate before swallowing.

Royce is my all time favorite chocolate brands in SIngapore. Needless to say, their chocolates are top-notched. I specially love their Nama dark chocolate series. The texture is creamy, thick, flavorful and super chocolatey. The cocoa is rich in flavor, and yet not too sweet. It also has a small tinge of bitterness which complements the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate so well.

Their chocolates are very pocket friendly as well. You can get a nice, regular box of chocolates for less than $20, which I feel is totally worth very penny. If chocolates were not fattening, I can eat one entire box in a day.

Recently, I've fallen in love with their matcha series. The green tea flavor is strong and sweet, which I love very much. So far, there aren't any chocolates from Royce that I dislike.

I had a box of Royce Dark Chocolate for birthday once and it was so addictive, I became addicted instantly. Each miniature square of chocolate is perfectly cut, dusted in cocoa powder, and melts sweetly in your mouth into a rich creamy, chocolatey texture.

I remember finishing the entire box within two days, and that was my best restraint at going to the fridge to just get one more of those tasty square sweetness!

I then tried to buy it after I have finished but it was too expensive, however, given how perfectly-made each box is, the price is completely worth the quantity. Royce's Dark chocolate would made perfect gift to anyone.
