Created in Singapore in the year 2009, the idea grew from with our obsession to candy as kids. Growing up meant reliving these childhood memories was to come in a form of making our dream come true in starting Asia’s first independent candy kitchen and sculpting authentic hand-made candies for you. Since then, we have had millions of candies melt on the palates of many of our customers who love the candies we make. To us nothing is more important than the customers who have made us, shaped us and all we’ve created for. Whether these are our usual retail range, small personalized designs or large corporate orders, we make the candy with the same enthusiasm and spunk that make up each MIC Candy craftsman.
If you're looking for a novel gift idea for parties or companies, this is the place to go! Customizations are available, for instance you can request for a logo or initials to be incorporated into the candy design.
The large metal island table top in the middle of nowhere caught my eye. The staff knew that I was watching him and started to do some tricks with a grin on his face. It was so captivating, the way he made the candy, it was like a performer with pride and showmanship. This was unlike Sticky where they'd carelessly make candy like a machine, without putting in any effort, probably because they were too used to having many viewers. I asked for permission if I could snap some pictures and they were more than happy about it. I caught photos of the staff professionally drizzling potion-like bottles of bright colourings onto the candy, much like the suaveness of a bartender. I spent 1 hour there, and it was a pleasant gallery cum shop experience for me.
Candy-wise, it isn't really that fantastic, it tastes just like other sweets from stores like Sticky. I honestly can't tell the difference between all stores; the only difference to me is the design. I wouldn't really pay so much for a packet of sweets, especially when they don't taste phenomenal.
However, thanks to the great service at Made In Candy, I definitely wouldn't mind buying it for friends or family.
Though they are hand made by their candy artists, I still feel that the texture of the rock candies is slightly off as compared to Sticky. The texture isn’t that smooth and ‘shiny’ and the colours on the candies are of the darker neon range. The taste of the candies was on the high end of the scale, being too sweet, I mean. It just makes me think that the candies itself are of poor quality from what I have expected. The price wise, they are quite expensive in the rock candy confectionary market in Singapore.
On the whole, I would still prefer Sticky as compared to Made In Candy.
I am a loyal customer of Stickys and have been buying my rock candies from there. When Made In Candy arrived to the scene, I tried it out and I still prefer Stickys over this brand. Reason being, the taste of Stickys does not feel as artificial as Made In Candy. The flavours variety there is also not as much as Stickys. Although they have cute rock candies like Panda themed ones, I find that the designs are not as well executed *as compared to Stickys* (do I sound like a broken record already?). The candies do not taste too good to me as well, I have no idea why but it is just not as pleasant tasting as Stickys. Service was ok but all in all, I would still stick to Stickys when it comes to handmade candies.
