Just ate there last week at Vivo City outlet and I had a positive experience. Ordered their signature roast chicken, mushroom soup, and garden vegetables. Their creamy roast chicken I must say is amazingly delicious! So is their mushroom soup which I finished even before the main course was served, which I regret and would never do it again - it made me so full I that I had to wait for some time before I had the appetite to eat the main course!

Tip: Don't finish the thick and filling mushroom soup at the start, unless you have a really big appetite! Their garden vegetables were really fresh and I emptied the plate without leaving a speck.

Recently I visited Poulet for a family dinner, I was amazed by the service, food and ambiance of Poulet! I could clearly remember the unison of their staff "Bonjour! Welcome to Poulet!" It was quite a sight to see such unison in the greeting.

Poulet has a very relax atmosphere around their restaurant. It makes me feel that I was in quite a high-class restaurant (ignoring the openness of the area). Furthermore, it was topped with friendly and pleasant staff to assist you whenever needed.

What's more? The food!! Not only were the food appealing, it tasted great too! I start off my meal with Mushroom soup, followed by Mediterranean Stew Lamb Shank, and lastly Tiramisu. Unlike most mushroom soup found in other restaurant, Poulet's mushroom soup was very authentic, creamy and rich. Plus, it had a strong aromatic mushroom smell and taste to it. I absolutely loved it!

Next came the main course, Stew lamb, the lamb was cook nicely. It was soft and full of flavours! A definite recommend for lamb-lovers!

Lastly, the savoury Tiramisu. By the time I have my dessert, I was already full to the max. But then again, desserts are every girl's favourite, how can I missed it? Thank god, I had my brothers to share it with me. The tiramisu comes in a jar (exactly like those photos found in their menu or on their webpage), it was extremely adorable, that I couldn't resist the temptation of not taking a photo of it. Okay, back to the taste. The tiramisu was quite creamy and gelat. However, it was very fluffy and tasty. It literally melts in my mouth.

My friends have been raving about Poulet since forever, but the queues at all the outlets have always been insanely long, so I only managed to try it out recently on a random weekday afternoon.

My favourite dish (and probably majority of everyone else's) will probably be the Chicken Roti. The skin of the chicken is roasted till crispy, yet the meat inside remains extremely soft and tender. The sauce is really light and delicious too, which goes well with the chicken. Also, I like their mashed potato, which is really fluffy and creamy. However, one serving is quite huge and you'll probably get sick of it halfway through eating, so it'll be better to share it with other friends. Another dish worth mentioning would be their Tiramisu, which is so huge that it can be shared among 3-4 people. The tiramisu is really well done with the right amount of sweetness.
The other dishes didn't leave too much of an impression on me.

All in all, Poulet is a casual dining place that offers great food at affordable prices. Will definitely be going back for the their roasted chicken and tiramisu.

Poulet's roasted spring chicken is really awesome. The saltiness of the chicken complemented the cream sauce very well. The chicken skin was crispy and the meat tender. However, I tend to get quite sick of the cream sauce towards the end of the meal. So, it would be a good idea to share and order some sides which are pretty good too. We usually order the sautéed mushrooms that comes with an egg at the top. Their recent newly added dish was the truffled mash potato which gave me more reason to eat at poulet. I love everything truffle. The truffled mash potato was so smooth and the truffle taste was distinct but not too overpowering.

I have also heard many good reviews on their tiramisu. But it wasn't to my liking. It was too creamy and wet. This is especially so after a creamy chicken meal.

Their menu is quite limited and I am hoping to see more innovative creations for their signature spring chicken. Overall, Poulet is a good place for chicken lovers and their prices are pretty reasonable for that quality of food.

I was happy when I heard that Poulet (pronounced as poo-lay) opened a branch at Great World City, which was a 10-minute bus ride from my house. I loved the food at Saveur but the waiting time is so long I try to avoid going there unless I have to. Poulet has the same concept as Saveur - affordable French cuisine. I was a little apprehensive though because it is under Thai Express group and I didn't like Thai Express but nevertheless I still went ahead to try it.

My friend and I had a French Onion Soup, Oxtail Stew and Poulet Roti which were all recommended to us by the waitress. The french onion soup was too thick for my liking, there was no lack of onions though! But I only had a few scoops before it got too "gelat" (thick) for me to continue. The serving was quite small as well so thank god because I didn't wish for more. The oxtail stew was great!!!! It was bursting with flavor and there were so much sauteed onions which went well with the meat. It contains red wine sauce so do take that into consideration if you or your dining partner does not take alcohol. The wine taste is quite subtle though! The poulet roti was roasted chicken. One serving serves 1/2 a chicken. It was really flavorful and I enjoyed the chicken skin, however I found the meat a little too dry. I absolutely LOVED the mushroom sauce that came with it. I would have bought a bottle home if they sold it.

Do not expect this place to be as good as Saveur. I still much prefer Saveur but the long waiting time can be too much. I would recommend this place as a Saveur alternative for affordable French food.

Poulet's signature roast chicken is simply amazing - possibly the best I've ever tasted. The skin is incredibly thin and crisp. Some bits practically shatter when you bite into them. The chicken itself is very juicy and tender. I'm not a fan of chicken breast, as it can be dry and tasteless, but that's not the case in Poulet! Even the traditionally less appetising chicken part was delicious, very moist and flavourful. In other words, every single bit of the chicken is a pure joy to eat.

Often, sauces can come across as an afterthought for a dish - something that doesn't focus on adding to the dish itself, or is there just because. Well, the cream sauce served with the roast chicken exceeds expectations. Creamy, with a generous serving of juicy mushrooms, and not too salty, it's good enough to eat on its own! In fact, my brother makes sure every drop is finished, regardless of whether there's still chicken left or not.

I'd also recommend the tiramisu-in-a-jar. The cream is light and fluffy, not too thick or heavy, and its not too sweet on the whole. I wasn't too impressed with the apple tart though. It was recommended by the staff, but I found it unremarkable.

The service at Poulet is also impeccable, with the staff generally being cheerful and very accommodating at both the Bugis and Bedok branches.

For less than $20 for half a roti chicken, Poulet seems like a good deal. However, the chicken alone is never enough to fill me up, not that i'm complaining cos this means I feel less guilty about ordering their AMAZING truffle mash potatoes!!!

The potatoes are whipped to the perfect consistency and the truffle taste is always strong and not just a light perfume. It goes perfectly with the cream sauce of the the chicken that is a lot more subtle. My only gripe is that the skin of my chicken was not crispy when I had it, and soggy chicken skin is just plain gross.

When I first saw an advertisement for Poulet at Changi Airport, with their roast chicken being featured, it looked wonderful. However, being a media student, I have been warned by false advertising. As such, I brushed it off, and decided that the chicken probably didn't taste as good as it looks.

I was right. It tasted even better than it looked in the ad and it was probably the best chicken I have ever eaten. Justice had been done for that poor chicken that died. Every time I go back to Poulet, the food is consistently fantastic. I really love their mushroom soup as well as their truffle mashed potato. It is to die for! The price of the food is also really decent and considering what you're paying for, it's worth every penny.

Affordable French Food
Overall Score

French food always sounds so atas (colloquial term for high-class) and beyond the reach of many. However, poulet shows that this is a misconception

I really enjoyed my meal at poulet and their specialty Poulet de Cranberry deserves a shout out. I was at their newly opened branch at Chinatown Point hence I rationalised that their service crew were mainly new and inexperienced which resulted in the staff being inattentive, they were however very courteous when they attended to us. The prices are affordable for French cuisine and affordable should not be confused with cheap, a meal for 2 pax came up to $50.

Me and my girlfriend were strolling around in the newly constructed Bedok mall when we chanced upon poulet. It was always on our to-eat list but we didn't had the opportunity to patronize it till today.

Being a beginner at French cuisine, i didn't know what to expect. In particular, I was really surprised at the limited choices of main courses on its menu. Knowing its niche was roast chicken, my girlfriend ordered a Poulet Rosti (Roasted Chicken in Mushroom sauce). I ordered an Iberico Pork Belly because I was curious how its taste would compare to the pork bellies I savoured from my Taiwan trip a few days back.

For me, the pork belly was better in quality than those I've tasted in Taiwan, but it isn't the best pork belly I've ever had. Also, I wasn't a big fan of the generous amount of mustard served on the pork belly because it was too overpowering. The only thing that saved the dish from being less than good was its smooth texture and the savoury pork belly sauce. As for the Poulet roti, it was fantastic. The mushroom gravy wasn't too salty and in my opinion, the tenderness of the chicken even surpassed those served by some famous bistros and restaurants in Singapore.

As for the service, the waiters were really courteous but could improve with responsiveness and speed. Price wise, it is considerably cheap to be able to taste French cuisine of such quality. In all, dining at Poulet was a pleasant experience for me.
