Burger Shack starts from scratch and make our delicious burgers from the freshest ingredients available. Inspired by the nostalgic burger joints and American Diners in California, Burger Shack sets out to create a quirky restaurant with a casual, laid back vibe. Enjoy the burgers here at the restaurant, or takeaway a meal at your own convenience.
The chili cheese fries are pretty good. They have a good amount of beef in them and there's a generous amount of cheese, but they better, considering how they're rather expensive. A plate of chili cheese fries costed up to $5 the last time I was there. The portion was HUGE and I couldn't finish it myself. I would suggest sharing with at least one or two of your friends if you're gonna get it. I ended up packing it and taking it home, although soggy fries are necessarily my favourite thing.
I've never tired the burgers myself, but from what I've heard, it's pretty okay, nothing special. I would expect it to be of a certain standard considering how it's "the burger shack" but they don't seem to meet the expectations that they've set for themselves.
I tried out the God-Fire Burger, which was touted as the spiciest burger in Singapore. For someone who adds chili sauce to his McSpicy Burger, I took up the challenge. The chicken patty was thin but crispy a succulent. The Roasted-Garlic Habanero chilli sauce was the main highlight of the dish. The spiciness of the sauce was very evident as I was starting to perspire. However, to me, the burger was alright, nothing special. The cheese fries, on the other hand, were heavenly. Boy did they nail the dish. The cheese was super tasty and paired up really well with the also excellent fries. The minced beef was a helpful addition to the dish. The portion was huge as well. The cheese fries is a must buy in my opinion.
Overall, for the ambience and the food, I would say it is one of the better burger places in Singapore. The prices may be a little steep compared to other fast-food outlets, but it will be money well spent.
As for their burgers, I really enjoy their Ramly Burger and their new Firecracker Chicken Burger. The latter has a patty made of prawn paste chicken and it is really tasty :) The prices here are nothing short of reasonable as well, adding to its attractiveness towards students.
I would say it is worth a try at least if you have never been here before.
Personally, I detest burgers. I had no reason to come in except for friends who cannot make a decision so I had to step in. Very grudgingly, I opted for their meatball spaghetti.
(cue holy light)
The meatballs are competition to Ikea. The spaghetti was like pastamania's except it's legitly good. The sauce is something I would gladly pay $10.99 for to bring home and slap on everything meat. And I thanked god for my indecisive friends. And myself for my great decision-making skills.
I am not a beef person by choice but my friend was insistent that I should try her burger so I classily cut myself a distasteful portion and my god, I really love cows. It's nothing like the dried matter in McDonald's - it actually tastes pretty good for a beef-hater like me! Enough to temporarily win me over from poultry.
All in all, it's a pleasant surprise because I was honestly expecting a lot worse. I'd say it's worth a visit but not too much too often.
The restaurant itself is rather small, but I'd say that it's cosy and perfect for a chit-chat with friends over lunch. It is indeed a good place to hang out despite the prices of the burgers. The walls in the restaurant are decorated by photographs, much like that in Island Creamery's, since they are under the same company, after all.
I would come here again should my friends want to eat here, but I wouldn't initiate a meal here, compared to the other restaurants in its vicinity.
I will always remember my first bite of the classic burger. The beef patty, albeit thin, is unlike any other I’ve tasted. The cheap prices may have downplayed my expectations, but please do not expect anything but quality here! I am thoroughly impressed. This is the place to go for cheap and tasty burgers!
Their beef burgers are my favourite, and I usually opt for them whenever I go there. The meat is tender, and the beef patties are quite thick. I love their fries - much better than Macdonald's fries in my opinion - which are accompanied by a tasty salty seasoning, and their fries make you want to keep eating more.
I do think their portions are slightly small, so if you are a big eater, a meal at Burger Shack will definitely not satisfy you. Their portions are good enough for me, although I am never very full when I eat there.
The burgers are also slightly pricey, so expect to pay a bit more. All in all, I still think their burgers are delicious enough to visit over and over again, despite the price.
It was nearly lunch time and the shop looks pretty cool, decorated in an aloha style, so I decided to venture into it.
Good thing i did because that might be the best decision i made all day, the spaghetti i ordered was beyond delicious! The sauce was tangy and full, the meatballs, gosh it's beyond words. I've got to say, i think this might actually be the best spaghetti I've ever tasted! (At least, for the traditional tomato sauce, this is the best!)
One thumbs down was that the waiting time was a little lengthy. But then again, the spaghetti was worth the wait ;)
I'll definitely come down again soon to try it's burger, and i recommend you guys to visit this place too!
The food is great. Burgers are not the usual Macs burgers, but more of the restaurant type of burgers. The bread itself is chewy, but not too dry. The fries are good, ok not as good as Carl's junior but hey, this is about half the price of that. Then the burger itself. The meat is great, especially the BBQ pulled pork. It is like a real piece of meat, not patty style. Nice!
The food comes rather quickly. A little slower than fast food restaurants, but I can't imagine anyone being frustrated at the waiting time. They offer mayo to go with the fries, and all the sauces are great tasting.
Ambiance there is great. Due to it's location, there are many secondary school students who eat there, thus it may get noisy at times. Also, the area is rather small, and it is often full during lunch hours. Other than that, the furniture is both great looking and comfortable.
Overall, it is a great alternative to fast food restaurants. Yes, it is a little more expensive, but the food justifies its price tag.
The patties here are juicy and thick enough for you to enjoy the zing and taste of meat when you bite into the burger. Prices are also reasonable enough, a full meal won't set you off more than $15. True, it is twice the price of a McSpicy meal, but in my opinion, it more than warrants the price difference.
Not the best burger out there, but a good alternative nonetheless.
