When strangers reunion first opened, my friends and I visited them on a Saturday afternoon and was served in less than 15minutes. Food and coffee wise was mediocre and did not warrant a second visit.

The next time I visited them was because I wanted to try their new menu, especially their truffle fries. My partner and I decided to go at about 3pm on a Saturday, hoping that the queue would be shorter after the brunch period. However, to our horror, the queue at 3pm was a 1 hour wait. When we were finally given a table, we had to share seats with another couple or else we had to wait for another half hour. It was ridiculous.

No doubt their truffle fries were good, but their coffee and other brunch food were just mediocre. Thinking about the wait put off any thoughts to visit them the next time. Also, their tables were placed so close to each other, it is impossible to not hear the next table. However, after their recent expansion to open waffles slayer, not sure if that helped to relieve the queues.

I decided to try out this cafe after the raves by so many people, but I was quite disappointed. It was quite a 'badass' and cool experience to enter the cafe from its backdoor in the back alley though, and although a tad small, the cafe is cozy and quaintly decorated with stools and wooden benches. It is indeed a nice, quiet place to sip on hot coffee and perhaps read a book, or just to catch up with old friends.

They are well-known for the coffee, but I guess I am not really a coffee-person. We ordered quite a few drinks off the menu, iced-mocha for me and macchiato for a friend and another non-caffaine drink. Although I asked for the sweetest coffee they had on their menu, the coffee that came was still bitter and albeit adding a lot of sugar to it, I still found it quite a torture to finish the glass. Same went for my friend who ordered macchiato.

I personally feel that if you are not a coffee-person, this place wouldn't really be for you.
