Kent Ridge Park
HotVisitor Info The design of the park takes full advantage of the natural vegetation and topography of the site. Various look-out points offer visitors magnificent views of the off-shore islands like Pulau Duran Darat. The natural vegetation is the secondary forest with groves of Tembusu, Acacias and Dillenias. You can hear the sounds of birds and insects breaking the silence and serenity of the park, while you stroll through the meandering path towards the two ponds at the foot of the ridge and enjoying the serene ambience away from the hustle and bustle of city living. If you are a fitness enthusiast, Kent Ridge Park is the place to be. It has the most number of fitness stations - 20 to be exact. Nature groups will enjoy the nature trail located near Carpark A.
Pitcher plants and wild orchids are found along this trail. Next to the nature trail is a biking trail for mountain biking enthusiasts. This trail offers technical single-track riding for intermediate to experienced mountain bikers. On the eastern side of the park, towards the valley, is a natural pond teeming with turtles and fish such as the Japanese koi. One of the last battles for Singapore was fought on this hill which dominated the harbour and the British military depots in the Ayer Rajah area. A plaque was installed at Carpark B in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II.
