Much to our disappointment, the place was filled with socialites and people of finer standings. There was a supposed dancefloor, but it was empty throughout the time we were there, and the music were not the usual beats you get at Zouk or Butter. People were mostly mingling amongst themselves and drinking champagne.
Even though the place wasn't exactly crowded, it took us quite awhile before we finally managed to secure a seat. The place certainly wasn't big, there are only a handful of sofas, mostly it was just tables whereby people had to stand around. There were more beautiful and comfortable couches at the back, but that area was for members-only.
One redeeming factor of Ku De Ta would be the awesome view it offers. Located at the highest level of MBS, you will be blown-away by the spectacular skyline of Singapore City in the night.
All-in-all, I find Ku De Ta a really classy place, not really suitable for a simpleton like me. If you are looking for a place to party and have fun, Ku De Ta is definitely not a choice location.
Service took a while, but then again I am at one of the most popular spots in Singapore, so that’s to be expected really. Being able to enjoy the view of Singapore when at such an amazing bar is something you can’t really describe, and it’s a pretty fancy so I wouldn’t recommend trying to rock up in just shorts and flip flops.
I’d say that it’s good for a one time trip, you can get similar views at many other bars for a cheaper price, and unless you can splash the cash you can’t spend your whole night there. It’s more of an opportunity to show off Singapore to your visiting friends or family, and is a place that everyone should go a least once.
But I'm someone who really values my surrounding atmosphere, and something small can kill my mood easily. You don't get the usual crowds like the bars around clarke quay so I think it's perfect simply sitting around and soaking in the serene environment, while sipping wine or cocktails.
That said, it's definitely not for party-goers who are looking for some serious clubbing or drinking, or you might just really burn a hole in that wallet. It's nice to come here just once in a while - I'd probably get bored if I make it a frequent affair, and my wallet honestly can't sustain such a luxurious indulgence.
KuDeTa is known for their 'unique' cocktails, such as Wassup, B?, which is a cocktail of secret wasabi mary with Grey Goose vodka and a wasabi grilled prawn.
As the previous reviewer said, be prepared to pay the 50SGD entry, but to some the breathtaking view and the chilled out atmosphere may just be worth it. In my opinion, it is only worth it if you are allowed into the VIP section. If not, it might be a better play to head to other rooftop bars such as Lantern (Fullerton Bay).
With a slightly smaller dance floor for dancing, Ku De Ta expands out into the balcony, facing the stellar skyline of Singapore; the perfect place to sip margaritas and mingle with new acquaintances. The VIP section comprises a terrace filled with more spacious couches, reminiscent of a beach patio, for couples to lounge around under the stars and a more private bar for more drinks.
Unless you know the dancers or someone who can get you in the club for free, be expected to pay a minimum of 50 dollars cover charge (inclusive of a free drink). I managed to get into the club for free and party in the VIP area because I had a friend whose friends were dancing that night at the club. Drinks were not free though. I paid 26 dollars for a lychee concoction aptly named "Lady be Mine", causing a slight dent in my wallet for a measly drink, but it was worth every dollar. Even a simple gin and tonic would set you back 25 dollars.
So if you want to party with the bold, glamorous and beautiful, Ku De Ta is the place for you. But be prepared to spend a bomb.
