The Long Bar
Home of the Singapore Sling, the earthy decor of this two-storey bar was inspired by the Malayan plantations of the 1920s. In addition to almost every alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions imaginable, the bar also serves traditional pub favourites that are available as a meal or snacks. In the evening, a band performs a selection of contemporary and popular hits.
As a Singaporean, I would say the drinks here are a bit of a let-down. They are pricey ($30), but not much different than your regular cocktail.
The ambiance is good, and the interior is beautifully furnished! But this does not compensate for the price of the drinks at all, not forgetting the fact that you can get this ‘ambience’ at any bar in Chijmes! Furthermore, there is not much of a service at all. One expects a certain kind of service when the price of a cocktail is thrice as expensive as a normal cocktail.
It is worth a walk-pass, but don’t bother going in because there is nothing worth drinking or doing.
