For someone who's mildly afraid of heights, taking the Skyride for the first time since secondary school was a pretty nerve-wrecking experience. However, getting a bird's eye view of the beaches and lush greenery below managed to calm me down. Grabbing on as tightly as I could to the safety bar in front of me also gave me an added sense of security. A word of advice would be to hold on tight to your belongings because once it drops into the abyss of trees below, you probably will never see it again.

The price of a single trip on the Skyride and subsequently cruising down a route of your choice on the Luge costs $17, but for an additional $8 you get 2 extra rounds which definitely sounds like a better deal.

If you're looking for a little more thrill, taking the Luge at night is a whole different experience. In darkness with nothing but flashing colour lights to guide your way, this is definitely one of the attractions in Sentosa not to be missed!

Fun for all ages

There is a recreation activity that I think should be tried whenever I go to Sentosa. It is called the luge and it is part go-cart, part toboggan kind of ride. It is really fun and suits people of all age. It is very safe as well, since we are able to control the speed really easily by just releasing or pulling the handle. The path is not steep at all so there are no danger at all.

There are 2 trails to choose from, the Jungle Trail and the Dragon Trail. The Dragon Trail is a longer path and I personally think it is more fun to ride.

Fun for both adults and kids!
Overall Experience

I honestly did not expect myself to enjoy this ride. I have a phobia of heights and the attraction always seem to have far too many kids for adults to join. Well, the luge far surpassed my expectations and I would urge anyone not to be intimidated by the queue and just go for it!

The sky lift was scary, because it is exactly like a ski lift, and it travels way above the tree canopy. With that being said, it does offer a bird's eye view of Sentosa Island. Also, if you lose a flipflop, the staff will kindly help you retrieve it.. Or so I heard from my friend. Better not to try your luck though.

Once at the top, you take a luge down! It is very easy to control, and there are two paths to choose from, and from then on it's endless fun! It can go pretty fast so even though it is relatively safe, basic precaution must still be taken.

The only bad point: The safety helmets stink!

Everytime i vist Sentosa, i will never forget this particular attraction, The Luge!

I really had so much fun with my friends and enjoyed the unlimited rides i was given in the Sentosa Day Play Pass. There will be an open cable car that will bring you up to the hill. It will take approximately fifteen minutes to reach. During the fifteen minutes, you can enjoy a wide view of Sentosa and how it looks like above the height of the trees. If you are scared of heights, i would not suggest one to ride unless you are game for it, then go ahead! As soon as you reach on top of the hill, you will be given a helmet which is to be used while in your luge. There are two paths but one has more curves and a lot steeper than the other. I chose that as i really like challenges in an adventurous setting. Nevertheless, these two paths will be joined towards the end of the track. It is really fun to challenge a race with your friends! But of course, be careful when there are kids around as kids are slow drivers due to their lack of experience!

Skyline Luge Ride is absolutely rides not to be missed whenever you visit the sunny island, Sentosa. Basically, Luge ride is like a mini go cart where you would be able to race through different tracks of your choice. Both tracks would enable you to explore different sides of the jungle and if you wish, you could always slow down anytime. Unfortunately, the track is not long enough and you would complete the course in around 10 minutes. Upon reaching the finishing line, there will be a small traffic light indicating you to slow down.

Meanwhile, as for the Skyline ride, you could always take before or after the luge ride. The skyline ride would take you to the initial point where you rode your cart. The skyline ride is awesome with three seaters, where you would be able to enjoy the jungle view from above. It would last around 7-10 minutes. Meanwhile, don't forget to bring along your camera to capture those memorable moments.

So look out for promotions or student discounts for this ride. Usual price for the 2 rides is around $12. If you would like to opt only for the sky ride, you could purchase the unlimited ride at only $10. It is totally worth the price you are paying for.

For those going to Sentosa, this must not be missed. A warning though, the skyride is not for those with a fear of heights as it may seem a little daunting going up so high. To avoid the skyride, simply proceed to the other entrace on the top of the hill. For those up for the skyride, good for you as it offers you a stunning view of the island (the beaches look gorgeous from up there).

Once you're on the top of the hill, grab a helmet and they'll take you through the controls of the kart. The kart is easy to manoeuvre and children will have no problem getting the hang of it. Once you've cleared the tutorial, off you go down a ride of fun and thrills.

There are 2 different paths to take- the dragon path and the jungle path. The dragon path has more twists and turns while the jungle path seems longer. I personally prefer the jungle path so as to prolong the fun. Do be careful while steering and try not to get overly enthusiastic and the danger of you falling of or the kart flipping the side is still there if you do sudden turns.

The ride is unfortunately not as cheap and does not last very long however, do give it a try and look out for various promotions for the ride passes they may have! The family package is quite a deal if you have children tagging along. This ride is truly one of my favourite in the main island of sentosa!

The Skyling Luge is something new and interesting. Before I decide to take up this ride, my first impression of the ride was, 'IT MUST BE REALLY REALLY SCARY!' because you're sitting on a metal bench with only one piece of metal ensuring that you wouldn't slip down. There's no exterior casing to protect you from rain or shine.

I'm someone who's scared of heights but what dare me to take up the ride was really the experience.
Together with my brothers and friend, we bought the ticket at the counter and went to queue up for it. The queue was not very long because it was off peak hours. So there we went, the service of the staffs were really good. Chatted along with us while we wait for our turn.

He briefed us on how to start the ride and the next moment I know, we were going up and up and up!
Eventually, we were taller than the trees already! THE VIEW WAS AWESOME!!!! I could see the seas and ships and beaches! Pretty and breath-taking. While you're in the high air, the wind brushed against your skin, giving you the cooling sensation while you sit back and enjoy the view. It just made me forget about the nervousness that I had from the fear of heights.
It was an amazing experience. MUST TRY.

One piece of advice when taking this ride, if you're wearing slippers, please make sure you take it off or had it "secured" with your toes.

IF NOT, YOU'LL BE WITNESSING THE FALL OF YOUR SLIPPERS!

If you are looking for fun and thrilling rides in Sentosa and you have nowhere to go, I would recommend trying out the ‘Skyline Luge’! You can get a package before the ride, which allows you to race down 2 different tracks with your friend/s from the starting line. First, you take a ride up to the starting line as your legs dangle free in the air until you reach the top where you get yourself geared up. While on the way up to the top, you can take photos of you and your friends whom are sitting along with you, or in front of you. As you are on your way up, you can enjoy the scenery of the Sentosa Island (But be careful of your loose items, in case they fall off).

Once you reach the top and get ready, you will be briefed on how to accelerate, decelerate and other safety briefings. You can choose to race down or cruise down and enjoy the view as you ride down the course with your luge. But be careful of some of the turns as they are hairpin turns. Never feel uncomfortable to ask or seek help from the staffs, as they are all very friendly!

In all, the Luge ride will never disappoint you with its scenery/view! If it is your first time visiting Sentosa, try out the Skyline Luge!

Just last week, me and my friends went to Sentosa for the main purpose of playing the Luge. There was a 3 Luges + 3 Skyrides Combo going on that day, so we took that sweet deal! Being irrationally fearful of heights, I was a little worried on the way up the skyride, but the view from the peak of the ride really took my breath away. I was no longer afraid on the second time up the skyride and even looked forward to the third! The pictures we snapped on the skyride turned out to be really beautiful as well.

The luge ride is really simple and fun. It is really easy to maneuver, so I bet it's an awesome ride for both the young and the old! Sometimes it gets a little congested at the 'check points' where we are forced to slow down as it takes a least a few second for the luge to speed up again, but soon we learnt to pace our ride and did not have to stop at all for the whole ride down! There is a new trail added so I'd recommend people to play at least twice. As the motto goes, "once is never enough!" True that!

The luge is a nice attraction but I enjoyed go-carting more elsewhere. I would not rate it as high as some of the others have on TA. It's worth doing it once not twice or thrice as others recommend. At every 50-80 meters there are signs and stoppers to slow down and it spoils all the fun.

One go is definitely not enough! This is great fun even for small children who can accompany an adult on the luge. It is great for teenagers who will speed down the track as well. The skyride is a fabulous way to get back to the top as it offers an unrivalled view of the beautiful island. I bought a few rides as well as an "iVenture" discount card in advance only to find it was cheaper on the day! Nevermind, it was still a great day for all. A cheap and fun ride for the whole family. You can see extraordinary scenery while on the Skyride and whizz down the hill on your luge at blistering speeds. Riding once is never enough. I love hanging my feet even though it was a bit scary everytime I look down. We better availed the one-way trip down the beach, had a walk along, took some pictures, then we rode the bus back to resorts world.
