The first time I ever tried out a skyride was in China where we were hanging amidst the fluffy clouds. The idea of sitting on a natural ventilation skyride really appeals to me so my friend and I headed down to Sentosa to give me a try! We took the combo (skyride + luge ride) for approximately $18 per pax.

The skyride for two would actually bring us up and enjoy the overview of Sentosa's scenery. It was really breathtaking! Your legs would be dangling in mid-air. Although it may be a little scary for those who are afraid of heights but I guess there is nothing to worry about because of firstly, the slow speed at it was moving and secondly, the safety measures are already in place! It was really a good experience.

When we were at the peak, we took the luge ride down. Truth enough, it was a thrilling ride. Sitting on small little cars zooming our way downslope was really very fun and exciting. Once again, safety measure were put in place and there would be guides that would brief us before we drove off.

I would say $18 for such a whole-new experience is definitely worth it! Although the skyride and luge ride does not amount to more than 20 minutes (if i am not wrong), I feel that this short moment of fun is more than enough!

The Skyline Luge in Sentosa is a novel ride in Singapore and like all things novel, Singaporeans would flock towards it so they could brag about their experience and more notably, they tend to be OVERRATED, especially for the price you pay (which really should be expected because all tourist attractions in Singapore attempt to rip you off).

The toboggan/chair-lift ride is pretty neat. The chair-lift propels you to quite a height, over-looking trees and… more trees. The first view minutes were breathtaking but then it gets boring. Also, what’s separating you between the chair and view of trees is only a metal bar. For me, it was a Final Destination Movie scene. I was wearing slippers and gripping on to them tied with my sweaty hyperventilating toes and when you peer down, I could spot a helmet or two slung on trees while desperately praying that I do not meet the same fate as the helmet.

The go-cart/luge ride was rather bland. The trail was too short to be considered thrilling or adventurous. Perhaps, it’d be really fun to a child but for grown-ups, it’s no sweat at all. However that said, it is still worth the experience. But once… is really enough.
