Changi Airport Has A Rilakkuma Event With Carnival Rides, Exclusive Merch & Kawaii Photo Spots

Changi Airport Rilakkuma event at T3

With the March hols fast approaching, families are busy compiling a list of kid-friendly activities to make sure that time will be well spent. Changi Airport has an event that’ll delight not just the kiddos, but the young at heart. Whether you’re jetting off or just swinging by the airport for the vibez and hangz, the Rilakkuma event at T3 will be a kawaii overload.

From carnival rides to exclusively designed Changi Airport x Rilakkuma merch, here’s what you can expect from the event happening from now till 1st May 2023.

Cute carnival rides like Ferris wheel, spinning tea cups & swing chair

It’s no secret that kiddy rides spell glee amongst children, much less carnival rides themed after Rilakkuma and friends.

At $1 per credit, there’ll be a total of 4 carnival rides for your tiny tot to experience. These are situated at the public access area near the Departure Hall, meaning you can let them have the time of their lives and tire them out for a smooth flight thereafter – what a life hack.

  • Near Central Immigration: Samba Balloon & Ferris Wheel
  • Check-in Row 11: Swing Chair & Tea Cups

The first 3,000 carnival-goers will receive a free souvenir card which can double as a bookmark; great news for those who have a flight coming up soon.

You can purchase the carnival credits physically at ticketing booths on-site, at a minimum purchase of $25 for 25 credits. But pro tip: purchasing via the iChangi app grants you up to 15% off, with more savings the more credits you buy. Plus, the minimum purchase gets knocked down to just $10 for 11 credits.

For folks doing a bit of pre-trip shopping, purchases of $80 in a single receipt – or $100 for supermarket receipts – at the public areas of Terminal 1 to 4 will snag you 5 free carnival credits.

Exclusive merch like accessories, stationery & homeware

From 10th March 2023, there’ll be a lil retail kiosk near the link bridge from T3 to Jewel Changi. Rilakkuma fans will be able to stock up on adorable merch including tote bags, stationery, and plushies.

Choose between a 500ml travel tumbler ($11.90), kids’ reversible bucket hat ($9.90), or tea towel ($3.90)

Kawaii photo spots, including 3D optical illusions

Having won awards for being a next-level airport, Changi Airport has no lack of picturesque backdrops for photos documenting one’s travels or journeys to Singapore’s East in general. The Rilakkuma event brings a kawaii twist to Terminal 3’s Basement 2 space, in the form of larger-than-life standees and 3D optical illusions.

These photo spots will be perfect to snap memorable pics with the entire fam. Find them at the redemption counter beside Swensen’s, next to the B2 Food Kiosk, and at the ST3PS Amphitheatre.

With themed rides, exclusive merch, and photo spots galore, this Rilakkuma event adds to the already long list of things to do at Changi Airport. The best part is, they’re all available in the public area so we won’t need a flight ticket to gain access to the adorable lineup of activities.

If you’re heading to the airport from now till 1st May 2023, make sure to swing by Terminal 3 so you can say hello to Rilakkuma and his squad of cuties.
