Emily In Pares In Las Piñas Serves Filipino Beef Stew, Mami Noodles, & Papaitan From A Food Truck

Pares food truck in Las Piñas

Being naturally humorous, we Filipinos have plenty of businesses in our country with wacky puns as names. A new addition to these is Emily In Pares, a food business inspired by the Netflix comedy-drama series Emily in Paris.

Emily in Pares brings you not Paris, but rather, pares (braised beef stew), from a food truck parked at Metro Towne Centre in Talon Singko, Las Piñas. One of its beef offerings is a tad upscale compared to the others – steak rice – but it remains at a shockingly affordable price.

A bowl of pares from Emily in Pares costs P60 (~USD1.14). This rich stew made with beef tendon is best enjoyed with rice. For just P110 (~USD2.10) you can have a serving of this dish with bone marrow.

If you want to skip rice and want something with a toned-down, beef taste,  get a bowl of beef mami noodles for P45 (~USD0.86). Among the food truck’s comforting soup options is a slightly bitter soup made with cow innards, or papaitan, which costs P55 (~USD1.05).

On the other hand, for a meal to treat yourself without breaking the bank, you can opt for Emily in Pares’ steak rice. It’s fried Wagyu trimmings on top of garlic fried rice that costs only P40 (~USD0.76).

Street food snacks

Besides comfort dishes, the food truck also serves well-loved, deep-fried Filipino street food snacks. These include chicken skin, atay (liver), lumpiang shanghai (Filipino egg rolls), and chicharong bulaklak (deep-fried pork intestines).

Of course, Filipino street food wouldn’t be complete without pork barbecue. If you want to taste something not all barbecue places in the Philippines have, Emily in Pares has grilled chorizo Cebu which is skewered sweet longganisa (sausage).

You can eat these street foods as they are or enjoy these with rice.

However, if you don’t have the time to enjoy your meal, you can also get their recipes for takeout. The food truck puts its food in eco-friendly takeout packaging so you can enjoy its dishes guilt-free.
