Bon Appetit At 1120 House, Makati: Maximalist, Bohemian Brunch Spot Serving Steak & Sea Bass

Maximalist brunch spot in Makati

Since minimalism started to become popular in the past several years, we’ve seen so many dining spots adapt this interior design style. Due to this, places that have maximalist interiors have become quite rare.

Thankfully for maximalists in the metro, a new brunch spot opened in Makati in November 2021. Bon Appetit at 1120 House serves approachable yet artfully plated French bistro dishes. This dining spot is also a feast for the eyes with maximalist, romantic, and bohemian interiors.

Romantic, bohemian interior

Within 1120 House’s simplistic, modern structure with cement finish walls lies Bon Appetit that replenishes your creativity with its artful design just as it fills your tummy.

Giving the restaurant a romantic mood are seats and throws with floral prints. Flower arrangements, big and small, are scattered all over the restaurant.

Wood is also heavily incorporated into its interior, with seats, light fixtures, and decor made with wood strips woven in different styles.

Despite all of these elements, Bon Appetit looks spacious with big glass windows that provide its interiors with ample lighting.

French-inspired dishes

Bon Appetit’s exquisite and beautifully plated French-inspired dishes will also hit your sweet spot.

They offer starters such as tuna and shrimp ceviche (P625, ~USD12.15) flavored with honey vinaigrette, fresh kaffir lime, mangoes, and coconut cream foam.

For their Valentine’s special (P3,695, ~USD71.82) that will run until 4th March 2022, you also can get steak au poivre – Angus beef tenderloin medallion with pepper butter sauce – or grilled Chilean sea bass with roasted chives and cheese risotto for your entree.

Pastries & desserts

You’ll want to try everything from Bon Appetit’s dessert and pastry menu.

Here, you can get the classic pan au chocolat (P155, ~USD3.01) – a flaky, buttery pastry filled with just the right amount of chocolate.

You can also opt to enjoy an artfully made crepe samurai (P375, USD7.29) that has baked crepe, crème patisserie (vanilla pastry cream), and fresh mangoes.
