Beatrice Gomez in Israel for 70th Miss Universe

Pageant fans will be on the edge of their seats once again in the coming days, as the 70th Miss Universe season has just kicked off.  Ready to conquer the universe, the Philippines’ bet, Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez, has arrived at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel, the host country of the competition to be held on 12th December.

Thankfully, amidst the threat of the Omicron variant, the pageant organizers will be implementing strict measures to ensure that the upcoming pageant can push through.

Gomez’s flight to Israel was also nothing short of the regal treatment she deserves. In an elegant bun and a cream-colored one-piece, she flew business class with Turkish Airlines.

On Instagram, she posted a photo of herself comfortably lounging in her seat along with the caption: “It’s game time Philippines! Just boarded and off to a cozy trip to the Land of Creation. Comfortably lounging in my @turkishairlines business class seat. This is gonna be a long and exciting night! See you in a few hours Israel.”

Despite the threat of the Omicron variant, this year’s Miss Universe will push through, according to Yoel Razvozov, Israel’s Minister of Tourism. Participants will be granted admission to the country though it’s officially closed to foreigners, while they may also be subjected to a COVID-19 test every 48 hours.

“We will know how to manage this event. So, by using the waivers committee, we will have events like this, to which the country already committed itself and which we cannot cancel,” Razvozov was quoted in an article by US News.
