Fil-Am voice actress Anne Yatco voices Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun

Players of the popular action role-playing game Genshin Impact have something that hits close to home to anticpate in the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.1 version.

Aside from the exciting new updates which include new locations and events, the 2.1 version will include the new playable character Raiden Shogun, who will be voiced in English by Filipino-American voice actress Anne Yatco.

Ahead of the release of the 2.1 on 1st September, Yatco took to Twitter that she is the voice behind the new character.

“I CAN FINALLY SAY IT. I am humbled and honored to be the Raiden Shogun’s English VA in @GenshinImpact! I love the #RaidenShogun SO MUCH, and I can’t wait for you to learn more about her in #GenshinImapct 2.1! May the Electro Archon bless your summons,” Yatco wrote in her tweet.

For those new to the game, Raiden Shogun, also known as Baal and the God of Eternity, is currently the Electro Archon, among the seven archons, who rules over the in-game nation of Inazuma.

She’s indeed a major character whom Yatco, who’s voiced a number of characters in animated productions, deserves to lend her voice to.

Yatco, who comes from Morris, Illinois and grew up in a Filipino family, has given life to several characters from video games such as Naraka Bladepoint, Epic Seven, Guardian Tales, Shadowverse, Wasteland 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Vindictus, and Dragon Nest.

She’s also dubbed for anime and live-action shows such as High-Rise Invasion, The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, BNA, Better Than Us, Always a Witch, Penguin Highway, Devilman Crybaby, Violet Evergarden, Kuromukuro, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
