Fish & Co. is just another shop that sells fish and chips to me. There’s not much worth praising, and everything is pretty average. The shop sells decent meals, but the fish and chips are nothing out of the ordinary and can be found anywhere else.
The batter of the fish is crispy and sometimes a bit too dry, and it has a rough texture due to the crumbs. However, the flesh inside is very soft and delicious, without the awful fishy smell. The fries are also decent and well salted. The only thing worth remembering about Fish & Co. is their student meals which are at quite attractive prices.
Overall, for food and ambience, Fish & Co is pretty average. I wouldn’t mind visiting if I’m in the area and craving for some fried fish, but there are many other alternatives as well.
I for one have been a frequent diner at Manhattan Fish Market and know the benchmark of great seafood. That is why I was pretty skeptical when I first entered this restaurant, somehow thinking that there is no way they can beat Manhattan Fish Market. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu which had an extensive range of choices from multiple different kids of fishes, prawns and other assortment of seafood. One particular issue I have with Manhattan is their long wait times once an order is placed which meant I was surprised yet again when orders were swiftly cooked and came out of the kitchen, fully prepared for my dining pleasure.
I felt great as I was eating there as I got my fair share of great customer service and even better tasting seafood. I am now a converted fan for sure!
I first laid my eyes on Fish and Co. at 1 Utama while looking for a place to eat. For a person who stayed in England for a couple of years, I bet you know why I decided to try eating here. In case you don't know, it's trying my luck to find a good plate of fish & chips.
The portion of the food is definitely on par with what Manhattan Fish Market offers which is quite satisfying. As for taste, although it is not bad, it is not enough to make come back here again. I definitely prefer Manhattan Fish Market more as the fish & chips I ordered here is a bit soggy. Not sure if it was meant to be like that or it was just plain bad luck though.
I love the environment of the restaurant. It feels relaxing and makes you want to stay there for quite awhile. Not that I am not open to coming back to this restaurant but for now, I'll only come back here if other restaurants are full.
I was relieved to finally have another option for fish-based restaurant other than Manhattan. What attracted me to this eatery is their environment. The whole ambiance is somewhat cozy and relaxing, less crowded and of course has an overall nice vibe to it. I love having my meals here.
The menus vary and I can't comment further as the only meal that I always ordered is fish and chip, because that's the only thing that looks appealing enough to me. They tasted just nice and filling enough, can't complain much.
No doubt I will always choose this restaurant whenever I feel like having a plate of fish and chip.
Their famed fish and chips are definite must tries but apart from that, I don't feel any of their other offerings are worth the money especially their cod fish. I've ordered cod fish twice and both times they came tasteless. I had to add salt to the cod fish and the gravy provided wasn't even sufficient for a quarter of the cod fish serving. I feel as though I can make a much better one on my own at home with just some soy sauce.
My honest opinion is that this kind of restaurant (think Manhattan Fish Market and Fish & Co.) that serves mostly fish items can be good but unhealthy. Most dishes are deep fried and I think it's not suitable for the health conscious however healthy fish can be.
The first time I got to know about this restaurant was at Paradigm Mall, when my friends and I were walking around looking for a place to have our lunch. Since it was quite new to us, we decided to explore this place.
They offer a greater variety of choices for their fish and chips compared to Manhattan Fish Market, each represented by a country and cooked with different sauces. Their food didn’t disappoint us. Their fish and chips looked really appetizing, and tasted great too.
To be frank, I personally think that Fish & Co. is definitely better than Manhattan Fish Market. Those who have not tried it should definitely check it out.
I only tried once but I fall in love with their fish! The ambience is really suitable if you are looking for a place to chill and relax after long working hour. The service there is good; I was always served with smile even though I asked a lot of question and wasted about 15 minutes before I made my order. I did not wait long before my food arrive, perhaps the environment really make me relax while having some sweet talk with my girl friend. The fish is well marinated and tender, salads is fresh and cool.
Wandering around 1U and found Fish and Co. The waiter will first give you a cute menu to choose your food. I had order salad since I had no appetite while my boy friend ordered New York Fish and Chips (Yes, it has different types of fish and chips show different cultures of different countries, it's special!). While waiting for the food, there is magazine on each table to get rid of bored if you are eating alone. The fish was so fresh and soft, even the salad was also tasty when served with some fried anchovies.
