I came to the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia when I was still in high school. I remember seeing a lot of greenery here in the view and how the air has never felt so fresh in my life. Well, coming from the cities, the air is always fresher elsewhere. The tour guide explained about different plants that exists in this place.
He seems to really like plants as I remember seeing a wide smile on his face. He told us about the every survival of plants as well as the research that is going in the place. I can't remember much but it was pretty educational. It is an edu-venture that every child should have.
A free entrance here grants you a small adventure into the forest. You will find yourselves surrounded by nothing but trees and sounds of the natural rain forest. You can easily lose yourself there because it is such a big difference compared to regular city life. The place smells, feels and looks different which is why I consider this a small adventure.
Hiking up the trail for about half an hour will lead you to a nice spot to view the nearby waterfall. I remember that tired as I was from the hike, the sound of the waterfalls flowing and crashing on the rocks urged me on. There is just something about waterfalls which attracts me and I wasn't disappointed when I reached the peak. A beautiful waterfall plus lush green scenery surrounded us as we started to eat the food we had prepared.
This is a great way to relax and unwind and to leave behind the regular stress and sounds of the city.
It’s so green here. Well, it is a reserved forest here….The air here is really fresh and the green can do our tired eyes from staring at the TV, Internet or your lover for too long. They have a few trails here for you to choose from. I was told that there is a trail which leads to a beautiful waterfall and picnic area. I’ve only visited the trail which goes uphill. Along the way, there are only trees, plants, birds chirping plus critters sounds and more trees. Lovely place to get away from all the hustle & bustle of the city. Plus it’s free to enter.
Went FRIM with my colleagues under company trip. That was actually the second time, the first time is when i was in secondary school. The canopy walk is a guided tour. Before walking into the forest, there is a guide will brief you about the malaysia forest and researches they are doing there. It takes about 30 minutes and finally we can start our tour. Along the tour the guide told us the facts about different plants and the most amazing part is the bamboo, it grows very little (about cm) initially, but gradually, it can grow very fast (about m) when it reaches certain age. At the end of the tour, there is a waterfall that i like the most. Had a good time there.
