Launched on 19 November 2002, Lowyat.NET is ranked no. 14 in Malaysia and is known as "Malaysia's Largest Online Community". However, Lowyat.NET has no relation to the Low Yat group of companies, the site is named after Low Yat Plaza that is significant for IT product among the Malaysians.

I have learned a lot of useful tips from other members whom I have PM-ed regarding my future career industry. Of course, the forum helps a lot as well in that regard. My favourite at the moment is probably Health and Fitness as I am trying to improve my health.
I have purchased a few times from sellers at lowyat and more often than not, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Besides that, I knew this website because of lowyat.
I first joined Lowyat.net to purchase some items online from the music player section. This escalated quickly though as soon, I was browsing through the audiophiles section to get a lot of insights on the audio products that most of the people in Malaysia are using.
The sellers here are all very-very friendly. Most of them are contactable through phone and PM. I however would recommend you to PM the sellers before making purchase as there had been reports on some people getting conned by phone.
I spent around RM1250 here for a portable media player and the seller is still in contact with me whenever I have difficulties with the product.
The prices here are also cheap and a lot of the sellers offer free shipping to anywhere in Malaysia and most of them are very friendly.
I knew about Lowyat.net's existence thanks to my eldest brother when he was busy doing trades on that website. Of course back then, I didn't do much trading. I always clicked on the Kopitiam and Jokes Heaven sub-forum. Then I slowly branched out to the The Fast & The Furious section, Computers section and then I started trading.
My first item bought here was a second hand Sony Walkman Bean. It was the perfect mp3 player for me back then. The sound quality is good, the bass is phenomenal. Nowadays, I tend to visit the Garage Sales, LYN Street Mart and Job Enlistment section more. I have bought so many items from there with a total expenditure of about RM7000. If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't have known about The SmartLocal. My username there is Axel if anybody's curious.
Lowyat.net has been one of my local forums that I usually go to, and it has been one of the most popular forum in Malaysia. You can practically discuss about anything here, from talking about health, sports and games to special hobbies, photography, and many more. I also find many of the forum users to be really friendly, helping you out if you have a problem.
The trade zone always have something that interests you, and the offers are usually very good, with prices being slightly lower then prices in the stores. You are also able to find unique and rare items not available in the market anymore.
Lowyat.Net Forum is a well-known forum where local Internet users gather to share opinions in different fields and interests. As a photographer and filmmaker myself, I’m on Lowyat.Net Forum almost 24/7 to check on the latest and best deals on used camera items and equipments.
The trade zone offers really good used items, from camera bodies to tiptop condition lenses; from budget accessories to professional equipments. There were really times that I bought really condition lenses from great sellers at a very good deal. The best thing about the trading zone is that, everyone gets to speak out so that sellers won’t be able to cheat.
Lowyat is my go-to place when it comes to finding for jobs online. Either that or I would go under the Stuff for the Ladies to online shop. I would say Lowyat is very efficient when it comes to notifying you on new posts, new messages and things like that.
One thing I dislike about the Lowyat forum though, would be the fact that the inbox space is very limited. After awhile or maybe a few weeks of receiving PMs or even sending PMs, the memory space becomes full and you don't usually get to save the conversations for long.
Other than that, I think Lowyat is still one of the most practical forums to go to. Whether to discuss at the Kopitiam section, shop at the Garage section or even find for permanent jobs online.
Lowyat is only forum that I go to. Most of the time, I like viewing the garage sale section as I might find some treasure that may be other's junk. This is also the place where I offer my stuff online as I prefer to COD the products since mostly are gadgets. This is the best way to prevent scam.
There is always something for everybody. I love browsing through the girl's club for make up products. I might be less hygienic since it's secondhand but that real depends on the first user. There are forum for gamers, fashionist, sport fan, designer etc. Sometimes, I do seek advice on Education through this amazing platform that bonds Malaysians together. All I can say is, Lowyat.NET caters everyone's interest.
You can find most of the latest gossip and gadgets here. It is founded in Malaysia but recently we can see there are users from oversea, such as Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. The best section will be the Trade Zone where you can get almost anything from here. I usually wonder in Trade Zone for some vintage music instruments. I also tried to sell some of my gears here which I think is common in Lowyat.net. However, be extra careful when trading online as some are scams. In my case, I always meet up with the trader where we can inspect the goods before the trade.
Lowyat.NET is probably the largest online interactive platform for Malaysians.
The forum is divided into different sections including ‘Computers’, ‘Education Essentials’, ‘Kopitiam’, ‘Cupid’s Corner’, ‘Trade Zone’, ‘Job Enlistments’ and many more. In here, you can basically find everything, whether you are asking for help regarding your phone, looking for jobs, getting second hand goods, or even seeking for education advices.
There were many friendly and helpful people on the forum willing to lend a hand when I needed help. This is also one of the websites I go for online shopping services, and it’s reliable so far. And not to forget to mention, I actually got to know about TSL from Lowyat.NET.
