I went to this restaurant as I am very adventurous and love to try different food. Moreover, I have read good reviews of this place.
My family bought some nyonya kuihs to try such as the blue glutinous rice with kaya, pulut tekan, etc (as I don't know their names). My mum loves them and since she used to eat Nyonya food at Malacca, I guess the kuihs are quite authentic and good.
Disappointingly, the food we ordered arrived cold. The pongteh chicken and asam fish tasted average to me. It was my first time having pongteh chicken and I found it very similar to chicken with soy sauce. The Nyonya Chap Chai tasted quite bland. The dish I liked best was the Ayam Buah Keluak as it tasted different to me (Thus, meeting my objective of entering into this restaurant).
The Nyonya food at Malacca is definitely much better according to my parents. The food at June's Kitchen (Johor) is better too.
