A great teacher is one who not only educates a classroom, but also one who is warm and shows genuine care towards their students.

Countless heartwarming stories of teachers in our country serve as examples of this. For instance, this teacher who assisted a visually impaired student, and another teacher who helped a family clear up lorries worth of trash from their house.

Yet another caring individual, Izmaniza Fahida Ismail, a teacher in Baling, Kedah, took it upon herself to buy KFC meals for 30 students who never had the privilege to enjoy a meal in the fast-food joint.

Cikgu Izmaniza shared a video on her Tiktok account @cikpuangojes on 27th January 2022, which showed her bringing a group of students to a KFC outlet in Baling as a reward for their good attendance and completed homework.

Her students had requested a meal at KFC as most of them had never tried it before. She mentioned that many of the students are from struggling families and broken homes, who are unable to enjoy such small privileges that many others can afford to.

Feeling sorry for them, she was firm on keeping her promise.

The look of pure happiness on her students’ faces as they feasted on the meal was enough to move her.

“It breaks my heart a little to see them getting so excited over the sauces coming out of the pumps, instead of a bottle,” Cikgu Izmaniza added in another Tiktok video she posted, which showed her group of students staring in awe as she demonstrated how the sauce pumps worked.

What stirred her heart further was how the students thought of sharing their precious meals with their families back at home. Touched by her student’s thoughtfulness, Cikgu Izmaniza made it a point to order huge combo sets for every one of them.

With three kids of her own, Cikgu Izmaniza did her best to look out for children in her school as well, especially those who are less fortunate. In another TikTok video she uploaded a few days later, she mentioned that she treated 30 students to KFC meals.

She also encouraged everyone to lend a helping hand to the underprivileged, as the more we help one another, the more we can all benefit as a community.

Her Tiktok post has garnered over 2,000,000 views and 200,000 likes since. Netizens have been leaving heartfelt comments under the wholesome video, with many praising the teacher for being such an inspiring role model.

Getting a KFC meal may not seem like a huge deal to most of us. But this isn’t always the case for some, who may not be able to afford a KFC meal or have the chance to regularly dine out at a fast food restaurant.
