Laguna Bay beach bar in Penang

We’ve all been dreaming of long lost days lounging by the beach with a drink in our hands, and the ocean lulling us to our happy place. So it comes as great news that many bars have taken things outdoors after over two years of lockdowns hampering their business.

A new spot called Laguna Bay beach bar is the talk of the town among Penang-ites these days. The beach bar, which sits on the seashore, serves refreshing cocktails and hosts live band performances – here, you’ll feel like you’re on a vacation without having to hop on a plane.

Situated on a stretch of sand behind Rainbow Paradise Hotel, Laguna Bay beach bar is a no-frills beachside affair. While it isn’t decorated to feel like an exquisite bar in the Bahamas, it appeals with its chill vibes that transports guests on an adventure to faraway destinations.

The lively establishment operates under a giant thatch-roofed structure, engulfed by the lush surrounding trees which drip with pendant bulbs. The best thing about the bar? It offers sublime views of the sea, just a few steps away.

The magic happens as soon as the sun disappears below the horizon.

Drop by on Fridays and the weekends for an especially lit night out with your best pals. On the beach, a live band cranks out amazing numbers through the night amid the chatters and laughters of patrons and the sound of crashing waves.
