Pos Laju delivery man returns wallet to owner

Food and parcel delivery men have been winning the hearts of Malaysians since the first round of the Movement Control Order (MCO) – with photos of them carrying mountains of parcels to keep up with the surge in online deliveries during the initial phases of the MCO.

Another Pos Malaysia delivery man that’s been getting online attention recently is Putera Shazlan, a postman from Penang who went on Facebook to ask for help to find the owner of a wallet he had found while on the job. His honesty in returning the wallet – filled with over RM800 in cash and several debit cards – was successful 2 hours later, winning him the praise of netizens.

Wallet filled with cash and cards finds its true owner

Shazlan shared the Facebook post on 24th March 2021 around 4PM. In it, he asked for the post to go viral so he could find the owner of a black wallet he had found while delivering parcels. According to the post and his Facebook profile, he is a Pos Malaysia delivery man in Simpang Ampat, and works with a post office located there.

Along with the appeal, Shazlan also shared a photo of an Identity Card (IC) and driver’s licence he had found tucked in the wallet to help the owner, or his acquaintances, identify it so he can rightfully return it.

While these 2 personal items of identification are already a fuss to replace if missing, the hefty amount of cash stored in the wallet – along with IC and several debit cards in there – is no spare change that can be easily replaced either. Several RM50 notes, 2 RM100 bills, and various smaller RM10 and RM1 notes can be pictured stored in the wallet – with over RM800 that can be counted at a glance.

After 2 hours of sharing his post – with several helpful netizens reaching out to say that they found the wallet owner’s Facebook page, and another Facebook user sharing that they recognised the man as one of their clients – Shazlan shared in the comments section of his post that he had since met the owner and returned the wallet to him.

As proof of delivery, Shazlan uploaded a photograph where he is seen handing over the wallet to its owner in front of his Pos Malaysia van while still dressed in uniform.

Netizens praise Pos Malaysia delivery man for his honesty

Shazlan’s story on Facebook – from finding the wallet to returning it to its owner – garnered the praise of netizens online, who took to his post to applaud him for what he had done.
