Not your average chicken.

Ever dreamed of trying a chicken-dish with an Australian touch? Well your dreams can easily come true with a visit to Charco’s Flaming Chicken!

Being a halal certified restaurant, Charco’s truly provides a rare experience in selling the type of westernized yet Asian food for its customers. From Delicious ribs, wraps to burgers, they serve Briyani rice too! Along with Charco’s chicken (prepared with herbs) and Portugese chicken (which is quite spicy), a variety of salads are also good for appetizers.

Generally the chicken taste great, but you might be unlucky as some of the chicken that they serve might come across as a bit too dry and not too well marinated- hence a bit tasteless. Otherwise, the dishes are fine. The potato salad is a must-try as it actually whets your appetite. For vegetarians, you could have a larger serving of the potato salad to fill your tummy since chicken is a no-no for you. Food aside, the ambience is not anything extraordinary as you get the same feeling like eating at a food court (since you are near other shops). Furthermore its space is quite limited-not really accommodating for big groups.

Having only one outlet at Marine Parade Central, it is quite a chore for people who stay at the west side to come down. Nonetheless, it’s good to explore the other side of Singapore once in a while!

Great Salad Choices!

If you are going to East Coast Park, you may want to pay a visit to Charcos, famous for its flaming chicken.

It's located in a small food court just beside NTUC Finest. You can choose to sit outside or within the vicinity.

I was introduced by my sister. She told me that this is one of the most affordable western Halal food that has a big serving. Looking at the people having them, I could see how big it is.

I am a big fan of fish and I decided to try their Fish with 3 Salads. They have fish and chips but I decided to have salads for the day. I like the salad station. They have about 7 salads to choose from. I ordered Greek Salad, Chicken Avocado Salad and Seafood Salad. It doesn't come in little quantity for each salad. It comes in a big scoop and fill up the side of the plate.

The fish was big too. I was thinking on how to finish up the whole fish. It has a very crispy surface and when you bite on the tender meat of the fish, the juice comes out and it brings out the flavor. Eventually I manage to finish it.

Well, the next time I come here, I will come for the flaming chicken. I've seen a lot of orders and heard its good too.
