Good Hearty Australian Fare
Good hearty Australian fare. Boomarang is easy to find along Robertson Quay as it occupies a large shop space and is facing the main road. The Sunday that I visited, it was crowded with people. Am surprised to see many families and large groups gathered at a brunch place/time as most places serving brunch are often small and cosy. The service could have been better but I guess they are too busy as it was almost full house.
We had a corner table al-fresco style which was alright as they had fans installed so it was pretty cooling. For brunch, we ordered their signature brunch The Ashes ($22) that have almost everything from baked beans to bacon and hash, and the Eggs Benedict ($17) that comes with sautéed potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was also one of the best I had tasted. The portions were larger as compared to most brunch places so it is good to share. The Ashes also came with 4 thick slices of toast. Their brunch menu is pretty comprehensive and has an option for you to pick and mix your favourite combi.
If you prefer to have their main menu, their pork ribs looked absolutely delicious (the table beside us ordered that). In fact everything on the menu sounds good. And if you are game for some Kangaroo meat, they do serve it as well.
Being a Bistro and a Bar, their drinks menu has a wide variety including fresh juices, cocktails and beer, coffees and tea. This is a great place to sit and relax with a cold beer after your meal here as the ambience is nice.
