Good food and coffee
Conveniently based in Upper Thomson Road, Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters (previously known as OZ Specialty) has got to be one of my favorite cafes around. Aside from the aesthetically appealing white washed interior, this café not only serves up a good cuppa joe, they also have a pretty extensive menu. From all-day starters and pastas to the timely brunch and dinner menu, Pacamara caters to almost everyone from different walks of life.
Brunch goers like me, who can’t get up early would be delighted to know that their brunch ends at 4pm.
Pacamara is well known for their Salted Caramel Banana French Toast and I knew I had to try it after a friend of mine who didn’t like caramel (much like me) emphasized on how good it was. It was love at first bite. Sticky salted caramel sauce drizzled over a warm, light and fluffy egg brioche bun, topped with a generous amount of sliced bananas and toasted granola had me wanting more. The caramel had a perfect balance which ultimately brought the whole dish together.
Another big hit at Pacamara is its Eggs Royale. The hollandaise sauce, compared to most places I’ve tried, was one of the best. It was tangy with the right amount of vinegar and seasonings, yet nothing too overpowering. Pacamara is usually packed on the weekends, I would suggest going early to avoid queueing up. Although the service was lacking due to the crowd, the food and coffee makes up for it and I will definitely return to try their other dishes.
