The perfect place for a casual first date

For a first date location, Faber Bistro ticks all the boxes. Beautiful views, not overly well known, good food and alfresco dining, it’s the perfect place for a lovely night out without completely overdoing it. Don’t be put off by alfresco dining due to the vision of yourself sweating through your shirt, when you go for a dinner meal, there’s a breeze that keeps you cool and embarrassment free. Later in the day not only is it cooler, but the view gets better as time goes on and the city looks amazing. The food is not the best you’ll ever have, but that’s not the kind of restaurant that it aims to be. It’s not meant to be super fancy and high class, it’s casual dining in a beautiful part of Singapore perfect for both dates and larger groups of family and friends.

Despite probably the most randomly put together playlist playing in the background, Girls Aloud did not stop the feel of the place being really lovely. It’s got a relaxed feel and the view leaves you with a million and one conversation starters. You’re guaranteed to feel comfortable and able to enjoy a really good night enjoying both a good atmosphere and good food.

For the price that you pay, you cannot complain about Faber Bistro. My evening there was all that I wanted and more, and if you’re looking for a good meal with beautiful views of the city and at beyond a fraction of the cost of many other restaurants boasting such views, then I strongly recommend giving them a visit. Weekends can be busy however, so for weekend trips it’s best to book a table.
