Extremely affordable but average cafe food.
Scrolling through Instagram one day, I saw one of my friends post a photo of wings and waffles that were simply calling out to me. Turns out, it was a picture of 23 Jumpin’s signature Honey Paprika Wings ($8) and Mushroom Pizza waffle ($14).
Upon my visit, I ordered the two dishes I saw in the picture. Unfortunately, they ran out of their usual half-cut wings so what I got instead was the normal chicken wing and drumlet. While the Honey Paprika Wings were tasty, the honey taste overpowered the barely-there Paprika. I would have enjoyed it a bit more had the spices’ flavour been stronger. The wings were fried to just the right crispiness though, which was a definite plus! On the other hand, the Mushroom Pizza waffle was a disappointment. The waffle was soft and a bit on the bread-y side. The mushroom and cheese combination went well, but the fact that the waffles was not able to fully complement the flavours was a letdown.
That being said, perhaps the other dishes are better, and I intend to give the cafe another chance! Given that all prices are in nett and with their mains at an average of about $12, I would say that it's definitely one of the more affordable cafes around.
