Under Simply Bread, Brill sells sandwiches, breads, pastries and even prettily packed bento boxes to cater to people on the go looking for a healthier alternative.
Brill-iant breads and pastries,
No doubt being under the Simply bread group. This was tucked in a corner beside Da paolo at cluny court and I always missed it until I happen to find out when I walked further in. It was a little small place which could just fit two refrigerators filled with sandwiches, bento boxes, muesli, parfaits and fruit cups. At the side were beautiful glass domed displays of croissants, sweet breads and bakes which totally enthralled me.
There were so many variations of sandwiches on display i couldn't choose the one i wanted. In the end I got the mushroom frittata sandwich which was essentially mushroom and potato slices cooked in an egg mixture sandwiched in between two slices of bread with tomatoes and lettuce. No sauce, butter nor magarine. Ultra healthy. The packaging was soo pretty I couldn't bear to tear open the wrapper.
Dining there would leave us sitting in the open, a little like al fresco dining but it may become a little too hot if one were to sit out under the sun. But when I sat there enjoying my solo meal i realised many of their customers were take and go ones, with some just stopping for a quick bite or cuppa.
The orange fantan was good also. Moist, sweet orangey bread slices stucked side by side in a muffin case finished off with a sweet icing. So goood. Much better than the sandwich I have to say, which was a little dry and yucky, prolly because it was cold after leaving the fridge. An egg sandwich would be better eaten hot in my opinion.
All in all I would visit this place again. I can't wait to try their other varieties of sandwich! I'm totally eyeing their pretty bento boxes.
