Pho gooood.

Was about to list this place myself, Fangying! I also feel that this place definitely deserves a mention at TSL because they serve amazing pho!! Just by being in this unassuming restaurant sets you up for a world of expectations. More likely than not, you will be seated next to Vietnamese people because apparently this is where they go to whenever they miss food from home.

We had the sliced beef pho and spring rolls (the non-fried ones). Admittedly I've never had pho before and this was my first time but my date who's had it agreed it was pretty dang good! The menu is extensive and you'll be spoiled for choices. It gets slightly intimidating though, because the servers don't speak a lot of English and you're better off just pointing off the menu.

Not the most accessible joint in town but definitely worth a visit if like me, you've never had pho before. Even if you have, this is probably the best place in Singapore to have it again.

Good Vietnamese food

I am actually shocked that no one has done a review on Long Phung yet because from what I know, it was actually voted as the best Vietnamese restaurant in Singapore. Still, I was extremely excited to try this out after I came back from my holiday trip at Hanoi 2 week ago.

I went there at 1pm, and the place was packed. Despite the lunch crowd, my food was served within 10mins after ordering. I had Beef Pho ($6.50) and it was a little too salty for my liking. The restaurant was supposed to serve 'authentic Vietnamese food' but frankly, the soup tasted quite different from the ones I had in Hanoi. I think they made altered the taste of the soup to better suit Singaporeans' taste. Still, for $6.50, they serve a generous amount of beef. The pho noddles were also soft and smooth which I enjoyed. The prawn spring rolls were also very fresh!

Nevertheless, this is above average and I would definitely come back to try the other dishes on their menu. :)
