Great Food, Beer Tower and Just A Little Too Loud Entertainment

WARNING: if you plan to chat with family/friends over dinner - this is NOT the place!

To me, Tawandang is the perfect embodiment of Thailand - great food, lots of beer and over-the-top entertainment. I have had a great time with each visit to Tawandang but the only problem that I've had is the entertainment is so much like a concert that I've not been able to properly catch up with my friends.

With the loud music, its no surprise that it becomes hard to get the attention of the service staff. But I must say that I have seen many celebrating their birthday's there and the staff will always be very cheerful holding up "Happy Birthday" signage. Hence it is no surprise that many people will enjoy the cheerful and attentive service - when you are able to get it.

Food and Drinks

Like many of the other reviews, the beer menu is certainly quite limited, but it matches perfectly with the many dishes on the menu. One must try will be the pork knuckles, it is reminiscent of the German original but comes with a Thai-styled dipping sauce.

Nice food, nice entertainment

There used to be a branch at Suntec but it seemed like it had closed down. I was at the Suntec branch a few times and I enjoyed every time I was there.

With nice Thai food and German beer, your hunger and thirst would be satisfied. Another selling point about this restaurant was the friendly waiter and waitresses. They always served with a smile. Also, they had a live band playing there and how much can one ask for to have a good dinner.

They did not have the widest selection of beers but the one I had tried was very smooth and easy to drink. It is also not too gassy. A must order is the pork knuckle, it goes so well with beer. Another item is the steamed fish, eat it with the sauce and you may want to order a second helping.
