Are you serious?

I've been to Lerk Thai twice, of which both of the times, it was pretty disappointing. I thought it might just be the location that was serving bad food, but I went to another outlet on another day and faced an even larger disappointment.

I don't think their food is a good representation of Thailand, even though they provide a good eating ambience. It's bland, soggy and nothing close to decent.

For customer service wise, I usually wouldn't expect restaurants to go the extra mile with added services, but let's just say we had to ask for cutlery, serviettes, and straws, when our meal was served.

Not going back there, ever.

Decent food at decent prices

Not the best Thai food around but who will reject a good decent bowl of Tom yum? Lerk Thai serves good Tom yum soup and I especially like their fish cakes which has this extra springy tang. Their chicken stir-fried glass noodles, loosely known as padthai is also nothing to rave about but satisfying enough in a good portion.

The interior of the restaurants with its simple design makes dining easy, relaxed and casual. One of the more affordable dining places with good prices, good customer service and good food. Every now and then, they will have set meal deals which are really worth the dollars.

Nice Thai food

This place looks nice and inviting, and that's what make us decided to stop by here and grab a meal.

The food here has a nice variety, and I particularly enjoy their tomyam and green curry. With reasonable hot and spicy, I guess these meal are a winner. I always love Thai food and this place won my vote.

To complement your meal, try their refreshing lemongrass drink. I had two glasses of it as they are so fresh and left this great cooling effects on me. Totally a good choice on a hot sunny day.

If you're looking for a nice Thai food with a nice ambiance and good service, this is the place to be.

Real steal

I'm a lover of Thai food and I am always looking for authentic and reasonably-priced Thai food lobangs.

For starters, we ordered the Vietnam Spring Roll. I loved the dish for the simplicity of its ingredients - rice paper wrap; glass noodles and vegetables. The peanut sauce worked well on this simple dish.

Next up were the Tom Yum Seafood Clear Soup and Pineapple Rice with the Black Pepper Soft-Shell Crab, which I really enjoyed. The dishes were flavorsome and you just can’t stop eating, somehow!

Then we had the Red Ruby Dessert. I have to admit that I am not a fan of Thai desserts. And thankfully, the dessert wasn’t too sweet.

For all the food (and calories) that we ordered, the bill only came up to be less than $30. What a steal!

Overall, the experience was good. Although the waitress got our orders mixed up as the place was packed on that weekday, the manager came forward and had this sorted out almost immediately. He even served us complimentary drinks as a form of apology.

A more refined place to enjoy thai food

My encounters with thai food usually consists of sitting on plastic chairs, having my food served on greasy tables and at times, sweating it out in the heat. I never thought that good thai food can be enjoyed from one of those modernly decorated thai restaurants at shopping malls. Well not till I came across Lerk Thai.

I find this restaurant to be reasonably authentic with its thai creations. The Tom Yam Goong had the right sour and spicy combination with a generous enough serving of seafood. However the Pad Thai was a little less flavorful that some of those that i've had in golden mile complex.

Reasonable and tasty fare

Lerk Thai, to me, is much remembered of due to the specialty Thai food that it serves. It indeed leaves a mark on you. I dine out at Lerk Thai restaurants in the company of friends who are in search of exotic places to have a meal. At Lerk Thai, the 4 different flavours, sweet, spicy, bitter, sour, are omnipresent. The chefs do indeed know how to serve up food in different combinations of each flavour. But a side-effect of this would be that in a set meal, there're some dishes I'll absolutely hate and end up wasting some money.

However, the main course with the rice/noodles is extremely tasty and the amount they serve is reasonable for what you are paying. However, sometimes the service does lack. Once, when my friends and I had a meal at a nearly empty restaurant (which had 3 tables including mine filled), it took around 30-45min for our food to arrive.

But overall, I must say, the Lerk Thai experience is indeed reasonable and memorable

Great stuff...modern Thai fusion cuisine...

One of the best gauge of a dish success is if there are any leftovers. Our dishes were all emptied and in good time too...so I guess that means the dishes at Lerk Thai hit the mark.

Of particular mention are the deep fried soft shell crabs top with egg omelette and the black pepper beef - wonderfully cooked and refreshing representation. The rest of our orders like the deep fried fish with spicy mangoes salad and baked curried [prawns were worth a try...and finished with the lovely mango pudding.

Try it soon....I believe you will like it too.

For a change of taste

I often dine here with my family especially when we get bored of the same old boring Chinese restaurants. I dare say that Lerk Thai is able to cater to a wide range of taste buds. My grandmother and dad who loves spicy food are able to indulge in their tasty Tom Yam soup while my mum and I who are not that into spicy food are able to enjoy their milder options such as pineapple rice. Most of the dishes that we have tried here are both delicious and savoury.

However, a tiny issue with this restaurant that I have is that water is served at a charge. Only tiny bottles of water is served and this is not a good option when I decide to order a dish that is slightly too spicy for me as I would have to extinguish the spiciness by downing a huge amount of water. And this can add significantly to the bill.

Entirely overrated.

I've heard loads of great reviews about Lerk Thai but I have to say that it really is entirely overrated. And overpriced.

Recently, I ordered a green mango salad that cost about $10. For one, it was the tiniest salad I have ever had because I finished it in about 5 bites and the friend onion flavour was much too overpowering it completely ruined the salad for me. Apart from that, the service was pretty bad. After 15 minutes, none of the waiters had asked what we wanted to order and none of them were in sight. In the end we got so fed up one of my friends had to get up and go to the counter to ask them to take our order. Furthermore, the food took forever to arrive. Not only that, the serving time between the dishes were so long that by the time all three of us had received our orders, the food had gotten cold and unappetizing. I will never go back again.

Lovely Thai dining experience

Personally, I feel that Lerk Thai is one of the better Thai dining options in Singapore. This restaurant provides a wide variety of delicious Thai food, and is definitely the go-to place for Thai food lovers.

The service here is extremely efficient, as they always manage to serve up their food very quickly, and piping hot. The staff is amicable, and often greet customers with smiles the moment they step into the restaurant.

The food at Lerk Thai is definitely above average. One of my favourite dishes at Lerk Thai would be the Fried Minced Chicken. The chicken is tender and tasty, and goes extremely well with the white rice that Lerk Thai serves. Another dish to try would be the Braised Beancurd, which never fails to receive compliments from my family.

Lerk Thai Restaurant is definitely a great restaurant to spend a family dinner at. With such courteous and efficient staff, each dining experience is bound to be a memorable one.
