Their slogan, 'So good... You can even eat it on its own!' is pretty true.
As a gymaholic and a health freak, I especially love eating Gardenia Nutri Multi Grain on its own. It's a wholesome goodness which is delightfully aromatic, soft and delicious. Indeed, it prolongs the feeling of fullness and hence, prevents overeating.
Sometimes when I am feeling lazy or the feeling of 'let's-forget-about-the-low-carb-diet thing', I would opt for their cream rolls. These healthy snacks on-the-go are the perfect guilt free indulgence because the cream rolls are trans-fat free. The best lot? It's available almost everywhere - supermarkets, provision shops, schools etc, and it costs $0.80.

It's So Good You Can REALLY Eat It On Its Own!
For as long as I have been married, Gardenia bread has been my family's breakfast staple. The disappearance of our Gardenia bread (into our stomachs!) is an indication that we need to go grocery shopping again.
Being health-conscious, we usually go for the Fine Grain Wholemeal Bread or Original Wholemeal Bread as our main loaf. Our secondary loaf is usually some fruit bread or chocolate bun to satisfy my kid's (and mine!) sinful longings.
The great thing about Gardenia bread is it seems to taste great whichever spread we use on it--whether it's the sinful Nutella or the healthy St. Dalfour fruit spread. Even if we are in a great hurry or feel lazy, as what its tagline says, it's so good you can even eat it on its own.
Occasionally, we will be unfaithful and try other brands of bread, but somehow, we always return to Gardenia. There's something about Gardenia that does it so right that we cannot imagine having breakfast without it.

Gardenia, it's so fresh that you can eat it on its own. This brand of bread has been accompanying me since young till present. As I's a bread person who love to eat bread every morning for my breakfast, I've always been a loyal customer towards Gardenia. Every loaf of bread that I've bought, it's always gardenia and not other brands.
The bread is so soft and fresh that every slice give you all the energy that you needed to start your day. I also like their buns, which has three flavours, chocolate, sweet corn and custard. When I do not have time to make sandwich in the morning, I would buy their buns and bring it to school to eat.
All time favourite
Gardenia breads are one of my favourite since young. Mainly because of all the different type of breads that is available compared to other brand like Sunshine. Personally, I preferred their fruit loaves (Raisin, Fruit& nuts, banana) and their Focaccia bread *thumbs up for this*. It tastes so good that eating it with any jam is like redundant. Totally matches to their slogan of “so good. You can even eat it on its own”.
The nice fragrance from their focaccia bread is the main reason why bread is delicious to me. The rosemary and oregano fragrance just make me irresistible to their bread. Conveniently located in supermarket and convenience store, Gardenia bread can be available to you when you have that craving. Having bread also save the hassle of preparing food when I’m in a hurry, just grab a piece of fruit loaves or a focaccia and I’m ready to go. Good start for breakfast.
Furthermore, Gardenia bread is also a healthier choice of bread for individuals who are health conscious. Majority of their bread has no trans-fat and there’s still whole meal & multi-grain bread which is a healthier alternative.
Only choice of bread!
Since young, Gardenia has been my only choice of bread for breakfast. Though it may cos slightly more than other brands of bread, I believe the quality and the texture of the Gardenia bread is different. In addition, I love eating Gardenia 's fruit loaves, especially their banana walnut and corn loaf. Just like their slogan, "So good, you can even eat it on its own", I always eat the banana walnut loaf on its own. It is neither too bland nor too dry, in fact the banana adds flavor while the walnut adds texture to the bread itself. However, the loaf cost $2.95, which I find that it is a little overpriced for 10 pieces of bread. It will be better if it only cost $2.45. a 50 cent makes a difference!
Gotta love local!
Most of us would neglect the hard work it takes to make a loaf of bread, as the only thing we are concerned about is how it tastes. I have no qualms whatsoever with gardenia, and I have to say that Gardenia is one of our more successful local brands.
With more than 10 types and flavours of bread currently, I feel that Gardenia has taken bread making a many steps further than its competitors, and now I feel that it is the best bread brand in Singapore. I simply love the rich taste of even a plain piece of bread, and its buns that I can take wherever I go.

Gardenia is synonymous with nutrition and quality. The brand has an impressive select of breads to choose from, sure to satisfy any bread-lover's needs. Besides the usual white bread and wholemeal bread most brands offer, Gardenia is famous for its wacky adapted-to-suit local taste breads such as Pandan bread and raisin bread.
Gardenia is my personal favourite. I always reach for the white bread as it is perfect for making last-minute sandwiches for school and picnics and tastes great with chili tuna when the mid-day hunger pangs set it. The wholemeal variety is also a healthier alternative as it is a complex carbohydrate and takes longer to digest so it helps in curbing hunger too.
Healthier choice of breads
Whenever I have to buy a loaf of bread, I always reach out for Gardenia. It tastes great, has better quality control than some other brands and can be easily found in supermarkets and minimarts. My family has always chosen Gardenia over other brands of bread. We've tried some of the others but we always go back for this.
There's just something about Gardenia that makes it so appealing. It smells fresh, its soft and they have a higher content of whole grains, making them a healthier choice. My favourites are the wholemeal bread, the raisin loaf and occasionally the good ol' white bread. The latter can go with anything. Jams, spreads, an otah, just about anything! I sometimes toast it in the oven for a few minutes and then eat it on its own. Its delicious that way too.
If you are a fan of bread, Gardenia is a convenient and tasty choice. If you are more health conscious, Gardenia houses a range of bread products that have lots of healthy grains and nuts. Or if you find grains and nuts too much of a mouthful, you can try its fruit loaves, which from my experience are pretty tasty.
Whichever you choose, you won't go wrong with Gardenia.
Can't beat traditional bread
I grew up on Gardenia. But today I will say without hesitation, Gardenia can't beat the best breads from traditional bakeries in Singapore. I must give it credit though: its bread is indeed very good, and the fact that it continues to exist today attests to its popularity and value-for-money. My favourite type of Gardenia bread is the raisin bread; look out for the purple wrapper. It's the best raisin bread I know in Singapore - very generous with the raisins!
Gardenia bread isn't exactly "so good you can eat it on its own" as they claim in their slogan. Since it is manufactured, it lacks the familiar oven-baked smell and nice brown skin of the traditional loaves. Of course, Gardenia is slightly cheaper than the old bakeries, so for daily bread, get Gardenia. But on special occasions, go for tradition.
Yummy loaf of bread
If I were to choose between a bowl of rice or a loaf of bread, I would pick... yep you got it, bread. As you can see, I'm a bread person.
Which is why I'm going to write a review on Gardenia! This is by far my favourite bread. I'm pretty sure most households buy Gardenia. After all, Gardenia is Singapore's premier sandwich loaf bakery.
Anyway my favourite is the Banana Walnut loaf. I'm not fond of bananas but I love walnut, so it's kind of a love-hate relationship. Go figure. One thing I like is that the bread doesn't have a strong banana smell. Personally, I think that it's best when eaten on its own. After all, original is always the best. It's wholemeal bread which makes it even better! Wholemeal bread is naturally high in fibre which is a fundamental ingredient for maintaining healthy digestion processes.
Speaking of wholemeal bread, the multigrain country loaf tastes great as well! The grains are finely milled.
Verdict? In a word: Superb!
