Secondary School Days
I spent my secondary school years in Crescent Girls' School, which as you can tell is a girls school. Coming from a mixed gender primary school, I wasn't very used to being in an all-girls environment initially. I don't think I really fitted in at all during my 4 years there, but nevertheless I treasured the experiences and memories that I made there. I made a few of my closest friends there and had very encouraging and supportive teachers who never failed to spur us on through the entire O'level period.
My school's motto was to cultivate courteous, generous and sincere ladies and leaders of tomorrow, which I think they've managed to do well, as being in a girls school made me a much more independent and confident person. A sense of girl pride was instilled in us as we showed that we were capable of doing things even without the help from guys. My school was also a very IT-savvy school, and all of us owned a personal tablet computer to be used during lessons and we were taught many IT skills like using photoshop, making videos etc. Overall it was a very enlightening experience of being in a new environment, learning new things, and forging meaningful friendships.
As they say, once a Crescentian, always a Crescentian.
