"Once a Kranjian, always a Kranjian" This may sound cliche, but this was what our then principal, Mdm Maureen Lee would say every time she gives a talk. Kranji was actually my second choice, but I really thank God for placing me in Kranji.
We have so many committed teachers in Kranji. One of my most respected teacher is my chinese teacher of 4 years who is also the HOD of MT department. She is very strict and harsh on us and keeps pushing us beyond our limits. I may complain but I'm actually thankful for her continuous support for students. I may be a weak chinese student in her class and I actually thought of dropping out of the higher chinese class, but she believed in me and encouraged me to strive harder. In the end, I achieved a distinction for my higher chinese.
Furthermore, I've made true friends in Kranji. These people are my very close friends, and if I didn't get into Kranji, I would have not known them. I'm really thankful to know all the people who has made an impact in my life in Kranji.
Even though our school is run-down, we have very warm and dedicated teachers and non-teaching staff. I will never ever forget the tears and laughters I shared with the poeple I've known in Kranji. They really leave an impact in my life.
Nice canteen food
Have you ever tried smuggling food into the classroom during those school days before? Yes, I had!
I had to give it to this particular chinese veg rice stall in my secondary school. The uncle chef of this stall made really awesome 'black fried potatoes'! I'm already drooling at the thought of it. It's not totally fried but more of half fried half baked, with black soy sauce added to it. The uncle chef will always make one big tray of that, and it sold out really fast! It's actually more like a sweet kind of dish rather than the savoury kind.
My friends and I were really addicted to this side dish, and we would always order a 50cents worth of packet to bring it back to the classroom and eat it under our table.
Now, I wish I hadn't mentioned it. Where else can I get back this same taste now?
