I got my first pair of sneakers from Everlast when the shoes I wore out broke. Not only was there a wide range to choose from, there were also many different designs in vibrant colours. I purchased a red pair, and the nice thing about it is that their shoes are really hardy and last long. Also, the red comes in a bright shade which I favour. It was really comfortable, so the next time I passed by, I got one in black! They have lasted me for around four years and counting... it is without a doubt good quality, even better than Converse. (:
Staff are also helpful and let you browse on your own, stepping forward to assist when required. Also, prices are affordable, and I definitely recommend visiting Everlast.
Everlast has really nice and comfortable shoes! Though they're not sports shoes or any such sort, they are really good to wear out for a casual occasion. I recently bought a pair of black shoes with turquoise linings and tribal print interior which I like a lot. And it was at a good price! The shop attendant even explained how to go about washing the shoe most effectively to prevent the shoe glue from spoiling.
Howvever, the Everlast bags are of really low quality. I bought an Everlast bagpack for school and almost halfway into the year it started flaking and all the flakes gathered in my bag and got stuck on my stuff. The bag material also started tearing such that the edges of my file poked out from below.
So go for Everlast shoes, while their bags are a no-no.
Singlets + boxing supplies
I got into Thai kickboxing in secondary school, and being broke at that time and unable to afford premium Thai apparel (the likes of Twins are too expensive for me), I decided to 'settle' for Everlast. I could not have picked a better alternative.
It's a boxer's paradise. You can find everything from hand wraps, to singlets, to even a boxing bag or two. Granted, the latter costs A LOT, due to branding, but everything is priced very competitively. Design is also beautiful, being very classy. In fact, I liked their singlets which said 'Knock You Out' so much, I bought three with different designs. Cliche maybe, but I choose to call it classic.
Although there are some minor problems here and there, I am pretty much satisfied with what I experienced through these 5 years. If you are looking for a starting brand when you are starting your boxing/MMA lessons, choose Everlast. Affordable and quality apparel, truly heavenly.
for the fighters.
I own one everlast bagpack and one dry fit top and I bought it when I was in malaysia.
I've always liked everlast because of their design ( I still think their tank tops are pretty cool) and I think they have kept to the identity of the shop which is more to the whole fighting/mma side.
They are like Converse, just that their items are trendier and cooler looking and I actually quite like the design of their shoes. Better than converse if I must say. Just that I don't know why I havent bought them yet.
The bagpack I had wasn't durable at all. The straps began to tear even though I haven't been putting heavy things into the bagpack. Moreover, I don't use it very often.
So.. I guess you pay for the design!
Ever since I got into Muay Thai, buying good quality equipment was always difficult because it was so scarce in Singapore. Everlast offers a range of products that are good quality of reasonable price.
The first product I bought from Everlast was their handwraps. It cost about $15. This price is decent for handwraps. Other brands that sell handwraps like Twins and Fairtex cost about $20.
The next product I bought recently was a pair of mouthguard. The single mouthguard, which is basically a mouthguard that protects the upper row of your teeth, cost $6.
Although they have good quality equipment for boxing, I feel that their shop is not doing well in sales as perhaps not many people in Singapore do boxing.
It must have been at least 10 years ago when I heard of Everlast. It was a Golden Girls episode that prompted me to check out the brand. Since my mum was a member of OG (discount price), I bought a pair of Everlast Sneakers at the store located at Albert Street.
The staff does everything in their power to satisfy their customers. They are really friendly, which makes the shopping experience a breeze. However, I feel that it would be better if the space's larger. I went there during the weekends and it was really packed.
I'm not a fan of the clothes as I find them penny plain.
The price may be a wee bit high but hey, you get for what you pay. Besides, it's the quality that matters. I've been wearing my sneakers for 4-5 years and they fit like a glove.
