Really long queues
Cheap consultation and medication aside, this place can get very crowded, even on weekday mornings. I have had to wait nearly 2 hours to see a doctor once. The staff members, however, are mostly very helpful and understanding. They're not dour like those I've seen at some private clinics.
This is simply not the place to go if you're looking for a quick consultation and a run out the door. Perhaps you could visit them at off peak hours, but you'd still have to wait for a while. Pasir Ris polyclinic is like almost all the other polyclinics, good service and inexpensive bills. However, if you're impatient or pressed for time, you shouldn't go here.
The Appointment system is working to curb the long wait
Like all other Polyclinics, be expected to wait and wait if you plan to visit Pasir Ris Polyclinic.
However, after Pasir Ris Polyclinic implemented a full appointment system, the waiting time seemed to have shorted. Instead of walk-ins, patients now have to call and make an appointment and only visit the clinic at the specific time. This allows them to manage the crowd better I suppose and hence, the shorter waiting time. However, this appointment system also serves as a double edged sword for me as I've encountered difficulty in calling the hotline in the morning to make appointment for the day as it's always engaged or that no appointments were available for the day.
Service level were fair but don't expect to catch a smile on the service staffs although I don't blame them for the high level of crowd they have to serve every day.
