Unless you’re a real popiah fan or a resident or student living or studying in Bukit Timah, you probably haven’t hear of My Cosy Corner. It’s a small store tucked away in Coronation Plaza, resembling a typical Hong Kong eatery with its cramped tables and fast turnover rate.
The popiah here is unlike no other. The soft and chewy skin is slathered with sweet sauce and chili, and then sprinkled with grounded peanuts and crispy rice bits - a lovely amalgamation of different textures and flavours.
Although the food here is delicious and affordable, my dining experience there was often tainted by the aunties’ black faces. They’re perpetually PMS-ing or looking like someone just killed their husband. One of my friends have vowed never to go back because of the way one auntie slammed her change down on the table.
