An experience of dining with your dog in public

It's not easy to find pet-friendly cafes that provide food for both your pet and you in Singapore. That is what makes Doggiestyle Cafe so special. They cook for you - and your beloved pooch! This cozy restaurant is located at the roof level of Nex, which is very strategically located considering there is a dog park just outside its cafe, where owners can bring their dogs for some playtime before heading to the cafe to rest and have some food and drinks.

The interior of the cafe is furnished in a cozy and homely manner, with dining tables and chairs like that of the ones we would use in our homes. There are also big sofas if owners were to prefer sitting in them rather than the usual chairs.

Dogs are allowed free roam of the place but my advice would be to keep a close watch on your dog to ensure that no accidents happen (some dogs can get quite rowdy and hyperactive). There is also a pee pad at a corner, should your pooch feel the need to relieve him or herself. However, if they were to relieve themselves elsewhere in the cafe, a friendly staff would very quickly clean it up with a mop and disinfectant. A drinking water fountain is also available and dogs have free access to it.

On to the part about food! I do find the prices of the food at Doggiestyle cafe a bit high, considering its ingredients and portion. The simplest doggy meal costs about $6 and includes only very simple ingredients such as chicken meat, potatoes and carrots. There are also various other doggy meals that feature different flavours at a higher price. Other doggy food include cakes, brownies and meatballs. They offer a variety of human food as well. For its average portion, I do think it's priced slightly high. However, it's all about an experience of dining together with your pet in public, so I suppose paying a little more is fine.

One other special feature that Doggiestyle provides is holding birthday parties for your dog. My friend once held a party for her dog's first birthday and it was great fun. The cafe reserved a huge table for us and there were drinks for the humans and a big birthday cake for her doggy.

This is a great place to go if you are a dog lover or if you have dogs of your own. It's an experience you can hardly get in Singapore. However, if you are not comfortable with dogs, you might find the place a bit too noisy (barking, snappy dogs!), rowdy (lots of dogs running around), or you might worry about the overall cleanliness since dogs can pee and poop wherever and whenever they want to. The staff are very quick in cleaning up, though.

Overall, I still think its a wonderful place to visit. It's a great place to meet other dog owners and to let your dog socialize with others of its kind!
