Travelling without the hassel
Cafe le Caire was introduced to me by a good friend a few years back and since then I have fallen deeply in love with the place. Now Arab Street might be a little out of the way for some, but the walk there is part of the enjoyment as well! The shop is situated among rows of shop houses that give off a foreign vibe which I love because for a moment I forget that I'm in the hustle and bustle of Singapore. I usually ask to go to the non-smoking room upstairs cos it's air-conditioned.
My absolute favourite dish has got to be the Hummus with Pita Bread. I always order the Hummus, Fish Kebab (either with wedges or mashed potato; both are delish), and a Root Beer float (totally un-middle east but I love root beer!)
It is the perfect place to go to if you're looking to take a break from the mundanity of everyday life :)
