Classy minimalism at its best
If you're a flamboyant at heart, perhaps Theory of Seven wouldn't quite live up to your expectations.
But if you have a taste for the understated, classy cuts of minimalistic clothing like I do, then take it from me - Theory of Seven will soon be your new best friend.
Theory of Seven stands out from other local blogshops with its ageless and minimalist feminine designs in monochrome and in various shades of neutrals - think gorgeous white playsuits or flowy blush-pink chiffon tops. I'm not the biggest fan of chiffon, but Theory of Seven does have a wondrously charming way of styling their clothes that I couldn't quite help but lust over their feminine chiffon pieces.
However, designs seem to be pretty limited as most items sell out pretty fast, which does quite the blow to the online shopper's mood. No fear though, as they do backorders pretty often!
Really cool name
which brought me to the online store in the first place.
Reminding me of both Theyskens Theory and Seven for All Mankind, the name is a sure winner. The navigation is simple and clear and the design of the webstore is minimalistic and beautiful. The clothes are, similarly, simple but modern and feminine. Although the clothes are what could be considered "in" and "hip", Theory of Seven has a unique take on trends and adopt said trends into their clothes, but with embellishments or other design quirks that alter the entire look of the apparel. One gripe that I would have with the store is that the clothes are of limited variety. The selection of clothes becomes even more limited when you consider that at least half of the items there are pending or out-of-stock - which only leads to disappointment.
Irrelevant sidenote: the model is really pretty, so if you're in need of eye-candy...
Average clothes designs
Theory of Seven is a really interesting name and I was intrigued to visit their shop because of the name. The website has a neat and simple layout, perfect for idiot-proof navigation and very user-friendly. They offer a few choices for delivery such as free registered postage above $100, international delivery and next day delivery (not many online store offer this). This store had a lot of potential but sadly, their clothes design did not appeal to me. They have a great model with a great smile, slim figure and a pretty face. But the clothes still did not appeal to me.
The style of this online store is confusing. The clothes that I see on the website do not channel a strong style which is important for an online store. For example, edgy or classy or funky. I like it when an online store sticks to a "theme". If you see Love Bonito selling tie dye ombre shredded high waist shorts, I think you would be confused too. Next, I also disliked how some of the clothes have elasticized bands and/or are sheer. That's my personal preference. That being said, they do have some nice basic peplum tops which are the only nice design that I find on their website.
Très Très Chic.
I chanced upon Theory Of Seven on Instagram and couldn’t stop looking at what they had to offer. Their website is very simple and chic, a lot better than other blogshops, and the clothing itself is also very beautifully designed.
What I find kind of cool is the fact that they only use one model, who always has the same expression and pose. Even though the model is beautiful, I think this really helps bring out the clothing and allow people to focus more on the clothing than the model. The website has recently taken to doing outdoor shoots now, and the shots are very beautifully taken, it feels like I’m looking at a LookBook account. All online shoppers should give their website a look!
Needs more models.
My friend introduced this blog shop to me and since then, I was hooked on their designs. However, I find it hard to buy anything because they seem to have only two or three models and they usually seem to stick with just one model for almost all their clothing’s. This model is taller than the average girl in Singapore – and definitely much taller than me.
If they had used someone my height, I would have been more daring in clicking the ‘buy’ button.
Having said that, their designs are pretty cool and varied and any girl would be able to find her favourite piece in this blog shop, regardless of size.
I personally feel that this online store carries unique items which are perhaps designed by themselves. I think this is a good touch considering how almost everyone owns the same designs here in Singapore. Perhaps that's because there are too many blogshops around that carry the same items.
The clothes here get snapped up pretty quickly but they do have backorders. I don't really like visiting blogshops where almost every item is sold out but I guess I have no choice here because almost all good blogshops face this scenario. So do make up your minds quickly and get the clothes before they get sold out.
