Excellent property with great service and views

The Pan Pacific Singapore is my most frequented and definitely one of my favourite hotels in Singapore. Situated near Marina Bay, the hotel offers a luxurious escape for the city dweller despite being right smack in the middle of all the action. The hotel underwent a major refurbishment that was completed in 2012. As an almost permanent structure in one of Singapore's most prominent area, I was pleasantly surprised to see what has been done to the hotel internally.

At check-in, I was upgraded to a Harbour Studio from a Panoramic Room as a Platinum GHA member. Be mindful that the check-in area can be quite messy during peak hours and there isn't usually a clear line for checking in. While staff are generally eager to help you, I found that many of the front office staff lacked initiative in organising guests.

The Harbour Studio room was spacious and it even offered a separate mini-bar area with bar stool. I had a really good view of the iconic Marina Bay area from my room. The room came with a Nespresso machine which meant that you could enjoy decent instant coffee (not an oxymoron I hope) while gazing out into the magnificent view. There were also automatic curtains for your convenience (which proved to be of great value in the morning and before bedtime).

My favourite part of the room has got to be the bathroom which comes equipped with a stylish and deep bathtub. I personally would not recommend the Deluxe and Deluxe Balcony room types since they do not come with a bathtub and are generally on lower floors. A wide range of amenities from Elemis were provided in this room. A small tin of bath salt (single use) was also provided by the tub. Devices can be connected via HDMI ports located near the work desk to be displayed on the 37" LCD TV. The bathroom also came with inbuilt speakers which meant that you could enjoy watching your videos while taking a deep soak. This hotel, like the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, boasts a spectacular view of the atrium from above.

The night view of the Marina Bay area is absolutely magnificent from the room. You can watch the laser and light show from Marina Bay Sands and I do believe that these rooms are absolutely perfect for the National Day fireworks display. The hotel is located near many eating places like the Makansutra Glutton's Bay which offers delicious hawker food at a reasonable price. Additionally, there are also many shopping malls around the area and as such, dining options are aplenty.

There is also a complimentary turndown service that you can request for should you require one.

The breakfast at Rise restaurant is definitely one of the best that I have had in Singapore. There is a huge selection of breakfast ranging from light pastries to noodles and Chinese dim sum. It is worth noting that there is likely to be a line from approximately 930am so be down slightly earlier to enjoy breakfast before heading up for one final soak.

The room rates in Pan Pacific Singapore do not come cheap so I strongly recommend shopping around online travel booking websites or contacting your travel agent for a better rate. I found the rates listed directly on the website to be quite expensive unless you're going for an advance booking rate (which does not include breakfast). Personally, I think that the breakfast at this property is a must. The quality and variety offered at the Edge restaurant are both sophisticated and extensive.

Great breakfast spread

I love this hotel for its buffet breakfast spread. They have the widest choice I have ever seen in a hotel. Everything looks delicious and fabulous. It was a waste because I was always in a hurry and couldn't enjoy the various foods from the stalls they have. But I guess, I can always come back on the next trip to enjoy the breakfast.

Rooms are spectacular and clean. Everything is in order and I love how the room make me feel homely where I can have a good rest after a whole day out.

The pool is amazing, the staffs are great and I was happy to be able to check-in in the fastest way ever.

This is a great hotel with great ambiance and nice staffs. Definitely one of my favorite hotel for its great hospitality.

A Date to remember

My wife & I have very good memories for the stays at Pan Pacific Hotel, Marina Bay. This is where we had our first staycation ever since we were an item. We had stay in different types of rooms, from the panoramic to the bay view club rooms on the 34th floor. We stayed in their bay facing club room during new year's eve for the past few years. Everything is perfect, but except that part of the bay is block by the hotel in front.

Other than that, service had been good. They take note of my preference for every visit we made. i.e. removing all the non-complimentary items from the fridge (we need it for storing our cakes & chocolates) & giving us the same room (if available). I have not visited the hotel since they started renovation last year. The pricing had since been raised, which made it less competitive comparing to its neighbour.

Wise choice made!

It has always been my childhood dream to wed in Pan Pacific Hotel and I'm glad I did after 27 years on earth! ;)

Impressed with their 'pillars-less' ballrooms which gave all our guest the clearest view right from the entrance to the stage. Their long rectangular ballroom layout is simple yet accommodating to every girl's wish of walking down the aisle w wishes and applause from the guests, granting all guests a close up view of the blessed couple ;)

Another thing to add on, they've superb customer service! My gown was accidentally stained during my morning photo shoot and the Event Manager handling our big day pick up my gown immediately when we checked in, sent my gown for their express laundry service (FOC!) and by 530pm, my clean and beautiful gown was delivered to my suite!

A memorable and beautiful day for me n my spouse and thanks to Pan Pacific for making this special day more memorable!

A hotel of choice that won't break the bank

I stayed here for my prom night with my classmates, primarily for its excellent location. The room was spacious enough for ten of us to get ready at the same time without getting in each other's way, and the beds were so inviting after we were done for prom.

Pan Pacific is satisfactory for stays that are even longer, owing to its spaciousness, accessibility and reasonable pricing. The tasteful decor of the rooms as well as the hotel would be pleasing to the eye of any traveler, and would put them at ease instantly. The service crew is also prompt and courteous. Pan Pacific definitely would not disappoint in any area.

Wedding Suite

I had my wedding dinner at Pan Pacific in 1999. I was given a wedding suite and that was the first time I had stayed in a hotel in Singapore. The wedding suite was so spacious, it actually had two rooms, one room served like a living room and the other room was the bed room. The layout provided for some privacy because as always, all the relatives like to visit the wedding suite and given a separate room, I was able to host my relatives in the living room and let my wife rest in the bed room. The bed room was big enough to even have a walk in wardrobe. My wife was able to change her gowns in relative comfort in the privacy of the walk in wardrobe.

The view from the balcony was also spectacular. The view was simpler that time because Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sand and Gardens By the Bay was not built yet. I was given two nights stay and that was the most memorable hotel I had.

I am saving up and planning for another stay at Pan Pacific Hotel on my 15th anniversary two years from now. I may not be able to afford the wedding suite but revisiting and staying in the hotel again may bring back the fond memories of my first hotel stay in Singapore.

Price a little too steep

This hotel has got a great location! It is near to a few shopping malls such as Marina Square, Suntec City and Raffles City Shopping Centre. Even if the locals want to come here for a weekend staycation, no fret of getting bored!

The room is rather spacious and the bed is comfortable, sleep quality was not too bad. The check-in process was swift and we were welcomed by the smiles of the service staffs at the counter.

In fact, the thing I love most about this hotel is the indoor club, Mink! I have been to Mink twice, and really love the decors + atmosphere in there. The music played was great too.

However, I find the price a little too steep for the standard equivalent to a 4* hotel.
