Reasonably-priced korean fare
The stretch along Bukit Timah is known to some as ‘Little Korea’, due to the substantial number of Korean supermarkets, language schools and restaurants that has mushroomed throughout the district in the recent years. ZZANG Korean Food is one of the many Korean restaurants situated in Bukit Timah, however it stands out because of its reasonable prices.
Although the food may not be mind-blowingly good, it is tasty enough to satisfy any sudden hankering for Korean fare that you may have. Favourites of mine include the Kimchi stew and Tteokbokki.
The only major gripe I have about this place is regarding the one time I order hotteok - what is supposed to be a Korean pancake filled with molten brown sugar. However, something resembling more of a flat piece of stale bread with hardly any filling was served to me instead. I later found out that ZZANG’s hotteok came from a frozen packet easily purchased in Korean supermarkets.
