"Proud are we to be, a part of Tampines Junior College"
Tampines Junior College has been one of the most eye-opening experience of my life. At first, I was pretty heartbroken at having to go there because realistically speaking, it's ranking is definitely not one of the top JCs in Singapore. I thought I was a failure and looking around at its pretty old campus as well as its lack of infrastructure/facilities made it even worse.
However, as my JC life got on I realise the arts faculty is definitely one of the best in Singapore. A majority of students taking English Lit and Malay Lit got more than 80% distinctions in the previous batches. My teachers have been amazing in routinely giving additional work and even 2 rounds of mock papers after our prelims to make sure we are at our peak to sit through exam conditions. The dedication of my teachers as well as their genuine concern for their students has heartened me and caused my change of heart towards the JC. Whatever social stigma that comes along saying that TPJC is a bad school is definitely inaccurate and I am happy to have been a TPJCian.
