Great tasting Italian food at reasonable prices
Richie's is located at one end of Balestier Road. It is very much a small little place, serviced by a few staff that has known each other for a long time. The staff are always very friendly and open when serving the customers, and they always smiles brightly, be it the chef, the young boss or the staff.
One of my favourite items is their mushroom cream, which is a thick rich mix of soup with a very nice taste of mushroom. Creamy and seasoned just to my taste. You can dipped the garlic bread that comes with the soup and enjoy the taste of garlic spread and mushroom at the same time.
The pasta is cooked wonderfully and presentation of the dish is comparable to that of those in more high end restaurants. Ingredients used are always fresh. Portions for the pasta though are not very big so just eating that alone is usually not enough. I had also tried their sausages before and this portion is not small. One set of sausages consist of a pair and each is about 12 inches long, I tried eating it once, it was nice and taste good but it was really too much for me to finish it.
Pizza are made on the spot by the staff and you can customised according to your taste as well. Their pizzas are thin crusts unlike those of fast food services, and are baked to a slightly burnt crusts. My favourite is its Hawaiian Pizza without tomato base sauce, and it is simply great tasting.
