Casa Verde Hot
Casa Verde, 'Green House' in Italian, is a very apt name for the Les Amis Group's outlet nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Casa Verde offers guests a unique dining experience - relaxing with fine cuisine while surrounded by the luxuriance of nature and the soothing sounds of mini-waterfalls.

Inconvenient but great pizzas!
Getting here is rather inconvenient by public transport as it is located in the center of the Botanic Gardens. I usually drive there and parking is at an average rate.
As it opens very early at 7.30am, it is an ideal place for breakfast! My family and I will go for a run or a jog then settle down at Casa Verde for a post-workout breakfast. It is alfresco dining which is good. Imagine an air conditioned eatery filled with sweaty people - not a very good idea! This alfresco dining is awesome for evenings, where the cool wind and quiet surroundings contribute to a relaxing atmosphere. Also, it is pet-friendly so it caters to almost everyone!
The food is above average! They are famous for their pizzas, which you can takeaway as well. Their pizzas are about $20-$30 and have a crispy crust with generous amount of toppings. I had the Spaghetti Vongole ($18) before and it is a must-try! There are many clams scattered over the al dente pasta, which goes very well with the white wine sauce and garlic.
Get close to nature
Casa Verde is my favourite Italian restaurant , housed in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. When I dined in this restaurant, it gives me the feeling of being close to nature. The restaurant is cosy, cool and stylish, a great place to dine in for families, couples or friends.
We were welcomed with a complimentary soft bread with olive oil. Well, it tasted good, a great alternative rather than having a normal garlic bread.
The food that I ordered was sinful yet satisfactory. I had the Casa Verde House Special Pizza, chicken wings and calamari fritti.
The house special pizza is made up perfect thin crispy layer, added with their very own special sauces and creams. It is filled with mushrooms and hams, served with a side sauce for a dip in. The pizza is so fulfilling. It costs around $26 per serving.
Talking about the chicken wings, the honey glaze brings out the perfect combination of the juicy and tender chicken meat. The chicken wings is a must try side dish and you shouldn't miss out on this.
As for the calamari fritti, they are served with tartar sauce but you could also opt for tomato sauce if you want a lighter flavor.
My overall dining experience was great, the service staffs were friendly and we did not have to wait long for the food to come. If you visit Botanic Garden, make sure that you also visit this Italian Restaurant.
authentic woodfire pizza
I have never tried dining at the restaurant itself so I cannot comment about that but this is my experience with their pizzas which are always taken away by my parents back home.
My experience with Case Verde pizzas are of an A grade ALL the time. My favorite flavor, the Hawaiian (Yes, I'm boring!) is very well-executed. Nothing like the other Hawaiian pizzas out there. The crust of the pizzas are thin yet subtly chewy at the same time. You can taste the element of it being toasted via woodfire when you munch on it. It's hard to describe such a taste with words but the best word I can give you is that it is very authentic. Try it for yourself and you will know what I mean. The ham are of a good quality and tasted so good. I removed the pineapples because I hate pineapples in general. I get excited when I see a Casa Verde box on my dining table. You have to try their pizzas if you haven't. It's not totally sinful like Domino's. It doesn't have 100kgs of cheese and ham on but the whole pizza combination of the crust and ingredients can be described as classy and wholesome. Everything melds together perfectly to provide you with the perfect pizza. Highly highly recommended!
Two thumbs up!
I was introduced to this tranquil gem recently and I am in love! It is located at the edge of Singapore Botanical Gardens, and as the name of the location suggests, the lush greenery and serenity of the place was easily contributed the tranquil and luxurious ambience of Casa Verde.
We made a reservation for the night and was seated at one of the alfresco seats, which was perfectly cooling and ultimately an awesome dining experience. We shared a plate of Calamaris which were nothing special but good nonetheless. Their pastas are highly raved about, and I gave their Aglio Olio a try. It was extremely delectable, definitely one of the better ones I've tried. The only downside was that there was only the plain aglio olio. I'd have relished it more if they had juicy prawns in it!
My friend had a Pollo Al Mattone, basically a char-grilled baby spring chicken with long beans and a creamy roasted potato dauphinois at the side. A tantalizing choice! According to her, the chicken was tender and delicious, and the creamy roasted potato (which I had a spoonful of) was superb as well! It tasted just like Shepherd's Pies - just without the beef. Yums!
For dessert, we had a Creme Brulee to share. I am not a huge fan of desserts, but this was savoury, with a tiny layer of caramel a top. Not too overwhelmingly sweet, I loved it! I have a strong feeling I'll start ordering Creme Brulee for desserts in future.
The best of all, Casa Verde is pet-friendly! If you have a pooch and would love to enjoy a peaceful morning with her, this restaurant would be perfect! I'll definitely be back again, and this time, I'll invite my friend and her poodle along!
