fuss free dining

For those days when you’re looking for an affordable meal with quality you can count on, The Pizza Place is a reliable option. I have literally been coming here for years now and the food has never disappointed my family or me. They have all the typical flavours but our family favourite is definitely the pepperoni. It has everything you need – a healthy amount of sauce, generous amount of pepperoni slices and cheesiness all packed into it.

The staff here are really friendly and the boss is even sometimes around serving customers, making sure they enjoy their food. For a fuss free and delicious dinner with the family, this is definitely an affordable choice.

Pizza was so-so but good baked rice!

The Pizza Place is located amidst the maze of alluring restaurants and food places at the Raffles City basement, and does not really stand out. It is sited even feet away from the other seemingly more popular and famous Skinny Pizza store. My group of diners decided to give it a try anyway at the recommendation of a friend, and I found the food very much enjoyable.

Perhaps ironically though, my favourite dish was not the pizza we ordered. We chose the carnivore pizza and although it was hearty and flavourful, I didn’t feel it was outstanding and the crust was too chewy for my liking. The personal pan’s 4 quarters’ size was also rather small. The starter dish of cheesy potato pockets was better in my opinion for a toasty carb-laden treat. I’m not sure what cheese they used but it tasted different from the usual and was really good all melty. My favourite dish however was the green curry baked rice, served last piping hot, and really fragrant and thick. If you like green curry like I do then you will probably also enjoy this baked rice version, a really good idea of serving it in my opinion. Every mouthful was bliss. The whole dish may be a bit too filling/rich for one person to finish alone though.

It may seem a bit strange when it’s called the Pizza Place but I’m definitely intending to go back one day to try out more of their starters and baked mains.
