Brightest ice cream (literally)
MaggieMoo's makes some of the brightest coloured ice cream that I have ever seen. With ice cream in the colours of bright blue, hot pink and even purple, it definitely attracts a curious crowd to sample some of its ice cream.
In flavours like cotton candy, and bubble gum, the flavours at MaggieMoo's are incredibly unique, and customers are not likely to find such flavours at other ice creameries in Singapore. Despite their intimidatingly bright appearance, the ice cream was surprisingly good, though it can be a little too sweet for some.
I shared a cup of cotton candy flavoured ice cream with a friend, and he found it a little too sweet for his usual tastes, but I thought it was perfect, especially since I'm a sucker for sweet treats, so I suppose fellow sweet tooths will definitely enjoy the ice cream there.
The price was a little hefty though, for a mere small cup of ice cream. I wouldn't say that it's worth every cent, since it wasn't mind blowingly fantastic or anything, but I suppose forking out that sum for a novel ice cream treat is acceptable.
Outrageous colours, great flavours
I would have to say that Maggie Moo does serve up some striking and quirky colours of ice cream which might deter you from trying it- but don't refrain! I recently was taking a walk around Bugis with my friends the other day, when we passed the Maggie Moo ice cream shop, we were all intrigued and fascinated by the vivid display of ice cream colours and flavors. We were immediately drawn in and decided to give it a try.
We ordered the chocolate and red velvet flavour, and it was heavenly. The chocolate was rick, thick and creamy and the red velvet really did taste like the cupcake. The pecans gave it the extra crunch. Simply delightful. However we did walk away from the store with a hole in our pockets as it was really pricey for ice cream. But it's worth a try! I will definitely go back for more soon.
Some flavours look suspiciously redioactive
Some wise-man once said, "Do not believe all that you see". The saying probably applies to Maggie Moo's rather perfectly. My first visit to Maggie Moo's had me reeling with doubt about their ice cream.
I would describe myself as an ice-cream purist. The flavours that I love would be ice cream that has either vanilla or chocolate as a base flavour. The most colourful flavour that I would consider eating is either mint or durian. Needless to say, I tend to gravitate towards earthy colours.
Maggie Moo's range of flavours would challenge that belief system of mine. They have ice cream that is blue, crimson, purple, vermillion even with flavours as outlandish as cotton candy. My kids loved the cotton candy flavour. I had a taste and I have to give it to them that it does taste of cotton candy. But it is going to be hard to sway this old-dog.
I settled for their chocolate flavours, which were very nice before having to grudgingly pay what I had to. Definitely a place that you go to if you are adventurous, get turned on by colours and had just received your pay.
Attractive, quirky flavours!
Maggie Moo's definitely serves up some odd flavours. But don't be taken aback by the strange sounding names, it's delicious.
My friends and I were trying to go on a diet but when we passed by Maggie Moo's having a 1-for-1 sale we just couldn't resist. Plus there were 4 of us which would split nicely. We eagerly bought different flavours so that we could try a little of everyone's icecream. I had ordered cheesecake and boy, I was a happy girl. The cream cheese flavour was abundant. It tasted like real cheesecake. Except with the sweetness and texture of icecream, smooth and creamy with little chunks of biscuits crust and cream cheese. Amazing.
Looks great, tastes even better
I first came across MaggieMoo's ice cream at Somerset 313. I was fully prepared to completely dismiss it as another of those regular ice cream parlours that's all over our sunny island until I saw a blue tub of ice cream. Yes, blue. I decided to give it a shot because how often does one see a ice cream parlour selling ice cream coloured a vibrant blue with all sorts of delicious bits of marshmallow, m&ms and gummy bears in it? Not very often. I believe this is what makes MaggieMoo's ice cream anything but regular.
The ice cream is creamy and given in generous portions. I can't remember all the flavours that I have tried, but two that have stuck with me are the Cotton Candy Ski Jump and Destination: Dark Chocolate are my absolute favourites. Cotton Candy Ski Jump may taste a little weird at first, but it is strangely addictive. Destination: Dark Chocolate is, in my opinion, chocolate heaven. Very rich taste, not overly sweet, and it has fresh strawberry bits in it! The rich creaminess of the ice cream helps as well. The chocolate ice cream is comparable to Ben&Jerry's ice cream.
The choice to mix flavours is an extra bonus but do be careful in what you choose even with the staff recommendation. I did try mixing once, Cotton Candy Ski Jump and another pink ice cream I cannot remember the name of. The result was an sickeningly sweet ice cream. After that experience I stuck to the single flavours.
Service is wonderful. Staff is friendly and patient. I think when I first saw the ice cream I must have sampled every single flavour before making a choice. The staff were really nice about it and didn't make faces or any fuss.
The only downside to the ice cream is the price. For ice cream it's really pricey. If I recall correctly it starts at about $5 for a single scoop. But the flavours are unique to MaggieMoo's and really easy on the taste buds.
Strange and flavourful ice-cream will leave you curious to try some of them!
MaggieMoo's has a range of really bizarre flavours. Every flavour consists of different ingredients like cotton candy, gummy bears, graham crackers, and marshmallows, and lots more! You will definitely be intrigued by their variety of flavours and taste.
Most, or otherwise all the flavours are pretty sweet because of the ingredients, but they can be really flavourful too. I like "Cotton Candy Ski Jump" because it includes all my favourite sweets: marshmallow creme, M&Ms and of course, cotton candy ice-cream! Another flavour with a memorable taste to me is "S'more Fun Than A Campfire", and as the first word supposedly tells you, there are marshmallows and graham crackers. Super sweet, yet super good. They have classic flavours too like mint and chocolate, all of which are quite nice as well.
MaggieMoo's is definitely worth a try if you wanna try outrageous and innovative ice-cream flavours! They serve quite a big scoop of ice-cream, and the larger cup sizes allow you to pick two flavours, because trust me, just one flavour can be difficult to finish if you are to find it too sweet. Oh and you will also get a card that entitles you to enjoying benefits at MaggieMoo's. Every month is a different treat, such as one-for-one ice-cream!
adults become kids!
Mashed up ice cream that makes me think of mash up music and remixes! Sounds interesting isn't it? If you are a fan of mash up ice cream and loves to find ice cream places that mashes things up, then you should try MaggieMoo's!
My friend introduced me to MaggieMoo's that day we went to 313 Somerset when it recently opened. The price of the ice cream was pretty pricey to me since I had never tasted something like this before. I ordered Better Batter Cake Festival and watch the staff mix up my ice cream.
The names of the ice cream has a witty and fun feeling to it and so does the ice cream. Chewy and smooth, creamy ice cream whereby every bite is a surprising mix. I feel like I am eating presents and birthday surprises! the portion is very big by the way. The downside? Some of the Ice cream combinations are really too sweet.
It's like eating rainbows.
Was searching for a new ice cream parlor to try, and stumbled upon Maggie Moo. Being curious, decided to see through the flavors they've got through their display, and they are all so colorful!
The staff were all smiles, and entertain my friend and I who were asking for various samples before we decided in making a full purchase. I picked out 3 different flavors - pink bubblegum (which was intensely pink!), blue cotton candy (which was a neon blue), and peppermint. I also topped it off with gummi bears. I wasn't expecting to receive such a big cup with such massive portions of ice cream (the ice cream was really mountain high, with gummi bears sprawled on top of it). It was really worth the money.
Perhaps my choice of flavors weren't that fantastic. The ice cream was sickly sweet that I ended up discarding about a third of the remains. Pick out your flavors properly! A bad combination will make your taste buds go crazy in the wrong way! But really, the colorful display of ice cream is just enough to make you tempted to buy a cone, at the very least.
creamy and generous servings
Maggie Moos ice-cream tend to be forgotten when compared to bigger brands like Ben & Jerry's. The concept of this ice-cream store is full of colors. It might even remind you of Ben & Jerry's with its colorful interior and cute cow mascot.
Talking about the ice-cream itself, the scoops are generally bigger than other ice-cream shops. They do allow a mix-and-match of flavors as well! There are unique flavors like red velvet and bubblegum. The ice-cream looks so cheery and the displaying of the ice-cream were very captivating!
My 3 friends and I shared a large-sized cup and if I did not remember wrongly, there were at least three different flavors in it. Service was good and pleasant as the workers were full of smiles and offered us samples of every ice-cream we pointed at before we even asked for it. I went to the outlet at 313 and it was a booth just by itself at the basement where all the food booths are. There is a common area to sit at but it's always filled with people. So it might be better to walk while savoring the ice-cream instead of waiting for seats. Maggie Moo also holds in-house promotions every month so do remember to check out the place the next time!
