Milk and Honey is an ice cream cafe set up by a group of four friends in appreciation of a lady figure who taught them the recipes for their gelato and a variety of other sweet treats.

Affordable Gelato in the Heartlands
Milk and Honey hit a goldmine with their choice of location. Whether it be after a long day of school or after supper at block 85, everybody can head down to Milk and Honey to get their gelato fix. If only they were open while I was still at SACSS.
Everyone who works there are also super friendly and nice. They're always happy to let you try as many samples as you like before you decide on your order. Personally I really enjoy a combination of Salty Malty and Strawberry. Their Pistachio ice cream is really good too. You also can't miss their waffles which are crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside and really cheap compared to other gelato and waffle places out there!
They Don't Disappoint!
I have to applaud their service, for the following reasons:
1) They open 'til late, so it's never too late for a gelato dessert after indulging in the nearby blk 85's sambal stingray/ bak chor mee/ chicken wings/ fried prawn mee.
2) They offer generous sampling of their wide range of gelato flavours. Try as much as you'd like!
3) Don't be afraid to ask for their recommendations. They provide really honest opinions about the current best-selling flavours.
Needless to say, their gelato flavours don't disappoint! It is not a rare sight to catch them at full house even at 11pm on a regular weekday.
hidden gem in the heartlands
My family and I were having dinner out one day when we saw that a new gelato shop had opened. Since that day, we have been hooked on Milk and Honey. It's our number 1 gelato choice, especially since it's a only a minute away from where we live.
I love how they constantly experiment with new flavours; the anticipation keeps customers coming back for more. For an instance, they now have Balsamic Strawberry and Salted Caramel which they did not have previously.
Different flavours cost differently. Of course a more "atas" one requiring more ingredients would be more expensive.
My personal favourites are Salty Malty (horlicks flavour) and Pistachio! The pistachio flavour is really strong, and you can taste actual bits of pistachio which does not ruin the smoothness of the gelato yet makes it more genuine.
The staff are extremely friendly and patient. When my friend and I were shot of 20 cents, they waited while we walked home to get the money even though the shop was really crowded.
If you happen to be dining at Blk 85 for dinner, be sure to visit Milk and Honey. It is an experience not to be missed!
A great hangout for students
I am just going to start of by saying that... I love Milk and Honey! It is situated near my school, so me and my friends always like to go there and have some ice cream after a tiring day of school.
The food served there is good, and simply one of the best gelato places I have ever been too. Their food is not crazily overpriced like gelato stores you see in big shopping malls, yet they taste just as good. It is perfectly priced for its location, as many students and teachers like to patronise them, it is greatly affordable for us broke students. Also, they once had a sale on their gelatos when SACSS moved back into their original site, which was extremely nice of them! Not to mention, I especially love the Buddy Meal, where you pay about $9 for waffles with 3 scoops of gelato and a lemonade to go with it.
The gelato is nothing but pure heaven. $2.50 for a scoop of handmade heaven? Totally up for that! And not to mention, their waffles are crispy on the edges, soft and chewy in the centre... Perfect! After buying a single scoop, we were dying for more and went back to order the Buddy Meal!
The staff are also very kind. Upon walking into the store you'd usually find yourself having a little conversation with the person that served you your gelato, about school life, or about teacher life if you're a teacher!
They also give you a loyalty card whereby you can redeem discounts and eventually a free scoop of ice cream. That card came in extremely handy when my friend did not have sufficient money to buy a cup of gelato.
However, every place has its flaws and places it can be improved on. I understand that it is almost impossible to expand their store, but it was very hard for us to find a seat as all the teachers came flocking for gelato on the very day we decided to try the gelato store out for the first time. Also, the queue was really messy, so a clear indication of where the queue should start and end would help a whole lot. It would also be great if they would be able to serve more than just lemonade, as not everyone is fond of that drink. And although the already available gelato flavours are sure to bring happiness to your stomach, the variety isn't there, and there were only about 6 to 8 flavours? It might seem a lot, but it is actually very little compared to other gelato places.
In conclusion, I love this place and I would definitely visit it again. It is a great way for students or just about anyone, to de-stress after a long day as it is just around the neighbourhood!
