The Best Guo Tie In Singapore
The best guo tie in Singapore is not found at Crystal Jade, but a hawker centre on the top floor of Beauty World Centre. You Peng Fresh Mian Jiao Zi Guan doesn’t have an extensive menu, however it more than makes up for with its delicious dishes.
Although the noodles are not too bad themselves, the main star of the show has to be the pan fried guo tie. The skin is brown and crispy on the bottom and filled with flavourful pork juices which delightfully explode into your mouth when you take a bite. For only $6, you will get a plate of 10 guo ties. Compare this to Crystal Jade, where the same $6 will only get you as far as 3 guo ties.
If you do pay a visit to You Peng Fresh Mian Jiao Zi Guan though, I would recommend that you save your stomach space for the guo ties and skip the Xiao Long Bao. The Xiao Long Bao, while decent enough to satisfy a craving, is too thick and floury towards the top of the dumpling for my liking.
