Juicy and plump meat dumplings!
Think of Serangoon Gardens and many would be instantly reminded of Chomp Chomp Food Centre, but another place to find great food in the area would be Serangoon Garden Market. Nestled within it is Fong Kee Delicacies, which is my go-to place when I am craving meat dumplings.
One cannot be said to have tried the top 5 dumplings in Singapore without adding this stall to the list! The dumplings, sold in both steamed and pan-fried varieties, are plump and juicy. The meat which is mixed with chives is flavourful, and a single bite allows its juice to spurt out. Perhaps the secret to the delicious dumplings are the fact that they are freshly made on the spot every single day. Besides dumplings, the stall also serves yummy noodles such as zha jiang mian and dough skin soup. A note of caution though, do be careful not to burn your tongue while eating the dough skin soup. The soup is often scalding hot when it first arrives, and the dough pieces retain heat superbly well.
So, the next time you are thinking of paying Serangoon Garden a visit, do make sure to drop by Fong Kee and try their delectable dumplings. Ooooh, alliteration.
